It's been a long time since I took one bite at a BBQ place and immediately went 'wow'.. The meat is properly infused with charcoal smoke, and the grade 1++ Korean beef chadolbagi and scallop set is something I genuinely recommend. The stew is packed with meat, and the egg soufflé is loaded with savory depth!! There's even an all-you-can-eat set for solo diners with quality meat, so I recommend Gogigupneunsaramdeul Sharosu-gil, a true Korean beef hotspot near Seoul National University Station.

Where is Gogigupneunsaramdeul Sharosu-gil, and what are its hours?
Exactly a 7-minute walk from Seoul National University Station! It sits right in the center of Sharosu-gil, and as you can see in the photo above, the yellow sign makes it super easy to find! Hours are daily 12:00–23:00, opening at 16:00 on Mondays.
There's parking for 2 cars, but given how crowded Sharosu-gil gets, I'd recommend public transit instead. If you're driving, a quick call ahead will get you friendly directions :) Hair ties, mouthwash, dental floss, toothpicks, and fabric deodorizer are all provided, so just show up ready to eat well!

A wide hall that fits groups, with 21 years of retro character
The space at Gogigupneunsaramdeul Sharosu-gil is quite large, and group reservations were already booked, showing that both solo diners and groups love this place.

There's a friendly guide on how to eat the food deliciously, so I recommend reading it before you dig in! There's even a recommended order for ordering meat, so be sure to follow it! I heard this is a very long-running BBQ restaurant, and sure enough, a knife that had served for years was on display. 189,424 hours — I did the math, and that's a whopping 21 years!! I truly respect people who hold down the same spot for that long!!!

The interior is decorated with retro touches everywhere, which really captures the vibe of a restaurant that's been around for a long time.

What is on the self-bar at Gogigupneunsaramdeul?
Look how many side dishes you can get from the self-bar!! Lots of complimentary sides = many possible flavor combinations.

Drinks and alcohol
Of course they have soju and beer, and in line with the trend of drinking less these days, they even have zero-alcohol beer! It's 0.00, not 0.0, so it's drinkable anytime by anyone — whether you're driving, pregnant, or working!!

Menu prices and all-you-can-eat options
Korean pork for the pork dishes, Korean beef for the beef — how could it not be good?! I personally think meat needs the right amount of fat marbling, but if you prefer a leaner cut, just let them know! And for the unique menu items, chadolsamhap (beef-scallop-kimchi trio) and charcoal-grilled rice balls, there are instructions on how to eat them, so check those out and follow along!

Various set menus are organized by recommended group size, which made it really easy to order comfortably for our group gathering.

Of course there are also à la carte options, so if you want more — 'today's a cheat day!' — you can always order extra~!

The all-you-can-eat option is broken down by group size, and solo diners can do it for just ₩22,900!! Wow, that's actually cheaper than ordering 2 servings of meat — it was honestly shocking.
What comes with the 1++ Korean beef chadolsamhap set (59,900 won)
So after much deliberation, here's what I picked! Since this is a leading Korean beef restaurant near Seoul National University Station, I went with the grade 1++ chadolsamhap set for ₩59,900. Absolutely no regrets — you have to try it. Cross-aged grade 1++ Korean beef chadolbagi for three comes with Kerrygold butter scallops as a set, and the intensity of that first bite still hasn't left me, phew,, It comes with a generously filled stew (kimchi or doenjang) and 7 handmade side dishes, so I strongly recommend this menu for groups of 2–3.
Once the basic side dishes and charcoal grill are set, the grade 1++ Korean beef chadolbagi and scallops arrive soon after! The color is seriously stunning..
This isn't just fatty beef brisket — it's real chadolbagi showing off proper marbling! Because it's aged, the color was even prettier hahaha.
There are so many basic side dishes, and it's great to mix and match different combinations! What surprised me was the breadcrumbs — lightly fried so they're crunchy, so eating them together gave a nice contrast between moist-tender and crispy at the same time!

The big advantage of chadolbagi! It doesn't take long to cook! Even a short time on the hot grill gets you a proper Maillard sear on grade 1++ Korean beef chadolbagi!
Doenjang stew and Gwanaksan steamed egg
The stew that comes with the set (choice of kimchi or doenjang) and the egg soufflé are also amazing! I ordered the doenjang stew, and I've never seen a BBQ restaurant stew this packed with ingredients!! Both vegetables and meat are piled high, seriously. The egg soufflé isn't just water and egg — it's loaded with savory seasonings, so I kept scooping it up hahaha. If the Gwanaksan egg soufflé is already this good, I wonder how good the Hwahwasan egg soufflé (+₩2,400) is..
Scallops with Kerrygold butter
The scallops are topped with Kerrygold butter instead of regular butter, giving them extra richness and fragrance. They're sliced thin, so they cook at about the same speed as the chadolbagi. I think details like this are what make a great restaurant!! There was zero difficulty eating them!
Grade 1++ Korean beef and scallops cooked directly over charcoal, taking on that smoky flavor, were seriously tenderness squared ❤️❤️

How to eat chadolsamhap at its best
I tried eating chadolsamhap following the recommended method, and there was definitely a reason it's recommended!!
- Chadolbagi + scallop + kimchi jangajji (pickled kimchi) + myeong-i wasabi (wild garlic leaf wasabi): the land-and-sea combo of the two meats gets balanced by the pickled kimchi and wasabi, turning the richness into a clean, refreshing flavor
- Chadolbagi + scallop + galchisokjeot (fermented hairtail entrails): the distinct umami of galchisokjeot meets the scallop and bursts with ocean flavor, while the chadolbagi wraps it all together — truly amphibious!!

As a Korean, I couldn't skip the lettuce wrap, of course!! The fact that the wasabi is myeong-i wasabi adds a lot too!!

After eating in a rush, all that was left was a grill blackened with char and a very full stomach.

Is the chadolsamhap set worth it? Final verdict
The best BBQ restaurant in Sharosu-gil! I loved the taste, price, and hospitality! Book this place for gatherings, work dinners, alumni meetups — anything!! I genuinely recommend Gogigupneunsaramdeul Sharosu-gil, a place I'll definitely be back to!!
