Weekend reservation deposit and parking tips at Meolmeol Pangyo café

My husband and I visited Meolmeol Pangyo, a brunch café in Pangyo, on a weekend afternoon. I'd been curious about it for a while since I'd heard the food and the whole space, from plating to atmosphere, was pretty. Since it was a weekend, we booked in advance through Naver Place before heading over haha😆

Meolmeol Pangyo: location and basic info

Meolmeol Pangyo sits on the Baekhyeon-dong café street. It's easy to reach whether you're taking public transit or driving.

If you're visiting on a weekend, book on Naver — the deposit is 20,000 won

We arrived about 20 minutes early, and thankfully the staff seated us right away. Everyone was really friendly, which put us in a good mood from the start. There were quite a few guests when we arrived, but by the time we finished eating, the place was nearly full with barely an empty seat left. Even at 5pm on a weekend it was busy, so I was glad we'd booked ahead.

Exterior, parking, and the 1-hour public parking support

Meolmeol Pangyo is on the first floor of the building, so it wasn't hard to find. Even the sign standee out front had that free-spirited, cute vibe unique to Meolmeol.

If you're driving, you can park right next to the store. That said, the parking space isn't huge, so if it's full, you can use the Baekhyeon-dong public parking lot. We visited around 5pm on a weekend and were lucky enough to find a spot right beside the store, so we didn't have to walk far.

If you use the Baekhyeon-dong public parking lot, Meolmeol Pangyo supports 1 hour of parking fees. Public parking receipts are kept by the register, so grab one on your way out if you need it.

Interior atmosphere and terrace seating

Inside, the space was bigger than I expected. Wood-toned tables and chairs were surrounded by lush plants and colorful little props, giving it a bright, relaxed feel. It was neatly kept but still had a free, easygoing vibe, so it was fun to just look around the store.

Besides the indoor seating, there's also a terrace. Apparently you just need to ask at the counter if you want to use it! There were other guests there so I couldn't take close-up photos, but the yellow tables and chairs looked really cute — sitting outside for brunch with the cool breeze these days would be lovely. We used the indoor seats this time, but I'd like to try the terrace next time😊

This is Meolmeol Pangyo's self-service bar, and it was so cute and detailed. Besides water, cutlery and napkins, they even had a baby chair and baby-sized dishware ready.

How to order, and what we ate — 52,000 won total

You order using the QR code on the table. It was convenient to browse the menu photos and descriptions at your own pace before ordering. (For the full menu, check Meolmeol Pangyo's Naver Place page.) Right beside it was a notice with the store's usage guidelines, so give that a read before ordering!

Our food came out together a little while later. The colors of the salad and pancakes were so vivid that I gasped a bit the moment they arrived. The plating was so pretty that my husband and I busily took photos before we even started eating💛

Iced Americano

✔️ Low acidity, nutty and clean in flavor and aroma, so it was easy to drink. Nothing beats an Americano with a sweet dessert — it was especially good paired with the pancakes!

Raspberry endive salad

✔️ The raspberry endive salad comes with homemade raspberry Greek yogurt, endive, peach and jamón. With the pink sauce and peach together on the plate, it looked much more vivid than a typical salad.

The combination of crisp endive, sweet peach, and salty jamón worked better than I expected. The raspberry Greek yogurt added a tangy note that kept it light all the way through. On their own, each ingredient sounds like an odd pairing, but eaten together in one bite, the balance of sweet, salty and tangy was surprisingly good. It was different from the usual salads I get and felt distinctly Meolmeol.

Blueberry ricotta pancakes

✔️ The blueberry ricotta pancakes caught our eye the moment they hit the table. Thick pancakes were piled high with ricotta cream and plenty of blueberry compote. The white ricotta cream against the deep blueberry color made for a pretty photo from any angle 🫐🫐🫐

We drizzled on a little of the maple syrup that came with it, then took bites with the soft pancake, nutty ricotta cream and sweet-tart blueberry compote all together.

I worried the generous cream might feel heavy, but the tanginess of the blueberry compote kept it from being too rich. A sip of iced Americano between sweet bites of pancake was the perfect combo! Chatting with my husband, we ended up cleaning the whole plate before we knew it haha

Our thoughts on Meolmeol Pangyo

I'd assumed Meolmeol Pangyo was popular mainly for pretty food and pretty spaces, but eating there in person, I could tell they put real thought into ingredient pairings and flavor too, not just the visuals. It's a good spot for a day when you want something a bit different from the usual brunch menu you've had elsewhere.

We chatted away in a pretty space, enjoyed good food and coffee, and had a lovely weekend evening. I'd recommend booking ahead on Naver Place for weekend visits, and trying the terrace seats on a nice day💚 Next time, we're hoping to sit on the terrace and try other brunch items ourselves :)
