Tera Tower Japanese restaurant in Munjeong with free parking: Gome Mui

Back when I worked at an architecture and design firm near Munjeong Station, I got through some genuinely rough days at that job — and out of it came a few really precious friendships.

To meet people dear enough to erase all the hard memories from that time, I headed back to Gome Mui, a well-known restaurant in Munjeong Station's Tera Tower, after a long while.

Here's my honest review from a day of catching up properly over great food.

Where is Gome Mui Songpa Munjeong? B1 of Tera Tower A, by the round sculpture

Gome Mui, already word-of-mouth famous as a Munjeong Station Tera Tower restaurant, is located at G115, B1 of Tera Tower Building A. If you get lost, just look for the big round sculpture that every Munjeong local knows — the restaurant is right next to it, so it's easy to find.

When is there no wait at Gome Mui? After 1pm on weekdays

Gome Mui is so popular that there's basically always a line during weekday lunch peak hours. We deliberately went after 1pm and were lucky enough to walk straight in with no wait. Outside the restaurant there are even waiting chairs thoughtfully set up for customers in line.

The interior is clean overall and run as an open kitchen. By 1pm the crowd had cleared out and things were quiet, so if you want a relaxed visit, I'd recommend going after 1pm. The space has that clean, energetic vibe befitting a lunch spot popular with Munjeong Station office workers.

What two people ordered: abalone pot rice set and mazesoba udon set

Among the many menu options, the two of us ordered a mazesoba udon + tonkatsu set and an abalone pot rice + tonkatsu set. Ordering is easy via the kiosk installed at every table.

If you leave a receipt review, you get a free big can of soda.

Hot water for making nurungji (scorched rice tea) to pour into the pot rice comes out together in a thermos.

About 10 minutes after ordering, a neat, generous spread arrived that pleased both the eyes and the mouth. My cute friend even asked me to get her hand in the shot too, haha.

Abalone pot rice + tonkatsu set: how to finish with nurungji

First up, my abalone pot rice and tonkatsu set! There's a helpful guide for how to enjoy the pot rice properly. The color and sheen of the abalone alone is a work of art.

First, mix the rice and toppings evenly inside the pot, then scoop it out into a bowl. Pour hot water into the pot and close the lid to make nurungji.

Add a little of the seasoning sauce to your taste onto the scooped-out rice, wrap it neatly in seaweed, and eat — it makes you gasp with delight. Every single side dish was so good my hand kept reaching back for more.

To finish the meal, top the nurungji with a bit of jeotgal (salted seafood) and you'll taste pure bliss — a truly complete course, fitting for a great Munjeong Station lunch spot.

She asked me to catch the moment she lifted the noodles, haha, so cute. I stole a bite of the mazesoba, and the rich peanut sauce aroma hit hard with amazing savory depth.

The tonkatsu that came with it was also fried exactly to that crispy-outside, juicy-inside standard everyone loves, young or old. We spent a full hour chatting away happily over delicious food.

Is there parking at Tera Tower? 2 hours free

At Gome Mui, if you ask staff to register your car before you leave, they'll give you 2 hours of free parking. For office workers and visitors who drive in, this parking support quietly matters a lot.
