Last week's lunch plan with a friend got cancelled because she caught the flu, so we finally got to eat together. I happened to have business at the Sejong Metropolitan Autonomous City Office of Education, so I was searching for a spot nearby, and one place immediately caught my eye. The interior in the photos was just so pretty haha. That's Olivus Compagno Sejong Boram Branch.

I first looked it up because I was drawn to the pretty vibe, but once I actually visited, not just the space but the food too left an impression, dish by dish. It was great for a relaxed lunch with a friend, and with the atmosphere as nice as it was, I could see it working well for anyone looking for a date spot in Sejong — a real Boram-dong find.

Where is Olivus Compagno Sejong Boram Branch, and can you reserve?

Olivus Compagno Sejong Boram Branch sits right near Sejong city hall and the education office. It's also close to Eungdari Bridge, so it's a good spot to walk around after eating.

For anyone with business at the city hall or education office like me, it works well as a meal stop, and it's also easy to build into a course with a walk around Eungdari Bridge. And here's one thing I found out while looking it up!

Signage marking the Blue Ribbon Survey listing

Olivus Compagno is apparently listed in both the 2025 and 2026 Blue Ribbon Survey. Whenever I see a Blue Ribbon sticker on a storefront, my expectations for the food go up a little haha. Sure enough, it was quite busy during the lunch hour I visited. Naver Reservation is available too, so if you're visiting during a busy time like lunch, booking ahead seems like a good idea.

What the interior of Olivus Compagno looks like in person

Honestly, we spent a good while looking around the space before we even ate.

I'd already seen photos showing how pretty the interior was, but the photos didn't capture the real thing at all.

The high-ceilinged dining hall at Olivus Compagno

The first thing I noticed walking in was the high ceiling. With the ceiling that high, the space didn't feel cramped at all — the open sightlines made the whole restaurant feel bigger and brighter.

They used red and yellow tones as accent colors in particular, and the palette wasn't overwhelming at all — it just added a warm feel to the space. The green plants scattered around blended in naturally too, so the color combination was really pretty. It wasn't too formal for a restaurant, but not overly casual either — somewhere in between.

It seemed like a good spot for lunch with a friend, but also fine for a date with a partner. Tables ranged from 2-person to 6-person, so it looked good not just for dates but for family meals or small gatherings too.

The three dishes two of us ordered at Olivus Compagno

You can order easily from your table using a tablet. Apparently one of Olivus Compagno's signature dishes is steak... but I'm currently keeping some distance from red meat, hahaha.

  • Tuumba pasta ₩17,900
  • Truffle funghi pizza ₩18,900

Two of us, three dishes. Even while ordering I was thinking, "Can we actually finish all this?" But as the food started coming out one by one, that worry only grew.

The portions were bigger than expected haha. But that worry disappeared soon after. With every dish we kept saying "this is so good" to each other, and in the end we practically finished all three, hahaha.

Truffle funghi pizza, 18,900 won: the aroma comes first

Of the three dishes, the truffle funghi pizza caught my eye first. Once it landed on the table, the faint truffle aroma drew my hand to it naturally.

A whole truffle funghi pizza topped with mushrooms

There were plenty of mushrooms piled on top of the pizza too. Personally, with dishes where the truffle aroma is really strong, the first few bites are fine, but it can start to feel overwhelming the longer I eat.

But this pizza didn't have that problem where truffle smell drowns out everything else. Behind the mild truffle aroma, the mushroom's own scent and flavor came through naturally, so it was good to taste the ingredients together.

Even after some time passed, the smell didn't become overwhelming, so my friend kept reaching for more slices... and ended up eating almost the whole pizza, hahaha. She out-ate me on this one.

Tuumba pasta, 17,900 won: wide fettuccine in creamy sauce

And the Tuumba pasta, which I picked because I wanted it! It's a dish with shrimp in a spicy cream sauce, so it's one of my favorite pastas normally.

Taking a bite of Tuumba pasta right after the truffle funghi pizza worked really well as a combo. While the savory taste of the pizza was still on my palate, the spicy Tuumba sauce came in and shifted the whole mood in my mouth.

And what made me happy was the noodles! I prefer wide, flat fettuccine over thin spaghetti.

With a sauce that has some body like Tuumba, wide noodles pick up plenty of sauce, and eating the noodles and sauce together feels more satisfying. Olivus Compagno's Tuumba pasta also uses fettuccine, so every bite came with plenty of sauce clinging to it.

With the springy texture of the shrimp mixed in here and there, I was reminded all over again why I'd ordered the Tuumba, haha.

Homemade lasagna, 19,900 won: the dish we both picked as best

But the dish my friend and I actually enjoyed the most that day was something else entirely — the homemade lasagna!

I'd been picking dishes while trying to keep some distance from red meat, but... I couldn't resist the lasagna, hahaha. I hesitated a bit since the ragu sauce has meat in it, but that worry disappeared the moment I took a bite.

The lasagna noodles were softly cooked and cut easily with a fork, and as the sauce and cheese mingled between the layers, it tasted really rich and savory. In particular, it wasn't just one strong cheese flavor dominating — the deep flavor of the ragu sauce and the savoriness of the cheese layered on top of each other beautifully.

Lasagna can get tiresome quickly if the sauce is too heavy or the cheese too strong, but that day, we kept reaching for our forks again and again.

I think this is the best one.

In the end, my friend and I said this exact line about the lasagna at the same time, haha.

Was ordering all three dishes too much for two people?

When the food first arrived, I thought, "Did we order too much with three dishes for two people?" But to cut to the conclusion... we finished it all, hahaha.

A pizza with great truffle-and-mushroom flavor, a Tuumba pasta that switched up the palate with its spicy sauce, and the homemade lasagna that was our favorite of the day. None of the three flavors overlapped, so it was fun to switch back and forth between them. It was a great lineup for slowly enjoying several dishes while catching up with a friend after a long time apart.

Final thoughts on lunch at Olivus Compagno in Boram-dong

Like me, you might visit drawn in by the interior photos at first, but this is a place where the food stays with you just as much. More than anything, getting to catch up with a friend I hadn't seen in a while, eating good food in a pretty space, and chatting away — it felt like proper compensation for our postponed plans, haha. Another good meal today. :)
