Anyang café with a private room and hibiscus berry tea: Saechamcoffee

I wanted a brunch at a nice-vibe café on a weekend morning, so my husband and I went to Saechamcoffee on Anyang's Daengni-dan-gil for sandwiches and coffee. The combination of thick, generously filled sandwiches and coffee was really good. Saechamcoffee's sandwiches come in 3 options, and my husband and I had a hard time deciding between two. I love basil pesto so I went with the caprese basil sandwich, and my husband ordered the truffle jambon-beurre sandwich. For reference, the caprese basil sandwich and an americano cost ₩16,300 ordered separately, but ₩15,000 as a set. My husband wanted a cold brew latte instead of an iced americano, so we ordered items separately rather than as a set.

The food came out about 10 minutes after ordering, and you pick up your own tray at the counter. Forks and knives are provided, along with wet wipes, so we wiped our hands and ate the sandwiches one by one, by hand.

How the sandwiches taste: generous fillings and a thick cross-section

Saechamcoffee's truffle jambon-beurre sandwich apparently uses whole grain mustard and Isigny AOP butter. I'll show you the cross-section of each. As you can see in the photo, the richly flavored butter was packed in thick and made the sandwich super soft, and the truffle aroma paired beautifully with the buttery savoriness. The whole grain mustard was there too, so there was no greasiness at all. The jambon-beurre ham was layered thickly, and my husband kept saying how delicious it was as he ate.

My caprese basil sandwich had a thick layer of fresh mozzarella cheese, along with generous arugula and tomato. It had a fresh, tangy flavor that suited my taste perfectly since I love both salads and sandwiches. My husband, who doesn't usually enjoy basil pesto, took a bite and said if it tastes like this, even he could eat it happily.

I took a close-up shot so you could see the thickness of the fresh mozzarella and the basil pesto clearly. The fillings were so generous that even my husband, a big eater, said he was full after finishing his sandwich.

Clean coffee and hibiscus berry tea poured through a strainer

Saechamcoffee's iced americano had no bitterness or burnt taste — it was really clean and let the sandwich flavors shine. The cold brew latte my husband drank had a strong signature cold brew aroma that blended smoothly with the milk — really delicious. And a small detail: they placed cork coasters under the glasses so they wouldn't slip, which meant no clinking sound and a stable feel when setting the cup down — I really liked that.

After finishing our coffee, we additionally ordered the hibiscus berry tea, which came not as a regular tea bag but strained fresh through a sieve, which felt even more refined. The fresh fruity aroma cleansed the palate and gave a clean, refreshing finish.

Seating at Saechamcoffee, plus bag hooks and other thoughtful touches

Inside Saechamcoffee there's a variety of seating — single tables, bar-style tables, and group tables — so you can sit wherever suits your purpose, whether it's a solo café visit, a date, or a gathering. The 4-person table where I sat had two sturdy hooks installed on the side for hanging bags, which was really convenient. Thanks to the sturdy hooks, they were perfect for hanging my camera strap or bag. These small touches seem to really boost how satisfying a café feels.

Next to the pickup counter there was a water bottle and cups set out for anyone to drink, so I had a refreshing glass of water and looked around the interior while waiting for our coffee.

On a table in the middle of the café, there was a red mini mailbox. Curious, I checked it out and found it was a collection box for customers to freely leave suggestions or complaints for the owner. It gave me the impression that the owner actively listens to customer feedback and tries to improve.

The private room: a good spot to read alone

There's another enclosed, room-like space in the back of Saechamcoffee. It has a quiet atmosphere, perfect for visiting alone to read a book or work while sipping coffee. In the middle of the room there was a coat rack with a cute eco bag featuring the Saechamcoffee logo hanging on it — the café had plenty of charming, worth-a-look details scattered throughout.

Parking for Saechamcoffee: 5-minute walk from Samdeok Park lot

We drove and parked at the nearby Samdeok Park public parking lot, then walked to the café. It was about a 5-minute walk from the parking lot to Saechamcoffee, so very close.
