Autumn revisit to a Uijeongbu forest café's terrace seats: Forerest
In short
Forerest is a large forest-view café set back along a wooded path on Nogyang-ro in Uijeongbu, Gyeonggi. After a first visit in May, the writer returned in autumn with a cousin and took the terrace table with the best forest view, ordering Basque cheesecake (7,500 won), matcha Basque cheesecake (8,000 won), an iced americano (5,500 won) and a café latte. With the garden and forest path finally walkable after a rained-out spring trip, Forerest delivers atmosphere, coffee and dessert in one stop.

A day to meet my cousin in Uijeongbu :) I loved it so much last time that I went back again — let me introduce Forerest (For a Rest), a café in Uijeongbu!
Where Forerest is and how to get there
Forerest is a large forest café at 181 Nogyang-ro, Uijeongbu-si, Gyeonggi-do. It's open every day from 11:00 to 24:00, year-round, with parking for 50 cars right out front. It's also equipped for group visits, takeout, high chairs, waiting chairs, pets, a spacious terrace, gluten-free menu items, and organic menu items.
Cross the crosswalk on the main road and right to the entrance you'll spot the "Forerest" banner!

Just follow your navigation up the off-road path that feels like you've entered a forest, and you'll find Forerest surrounded by trees and woods! If you're taking public transit, take bus 8 from Ganeung Station or Uijeongbu Station and get off at Woojeong Maeul!

Why we came back to Forerest in autumn
I loved my last visit so much I came back! — I visited last spring, in May — It was lush and lovely in spring, and Forerest is just as good in fall too

The exterior alone has such a lovely vibe. Last time it rained so I couldn't look around the garden out front, which was a shame, but this time the weather was so nice I could stay on the terrace, and even take a walk along the forest path right outside — even better

It feels like a renovated house — there's also a bit of a cabin-in-the-woods vibe!

There are lots of seats in the garden right out front too, so you can enjoy your coffee under a parasol! 👍🏻
What Forerest looks like inside
Forerest's main hall has high ceilings and floor-to-ceiling windows opening onto the forest view, which made it feel even more open.

The interior was mostly wood-toned overall, and it went beautifully with the trees and forest right outside — a distinctly comfortable atmosphere that lived up to the name For A Rest, full of spaces to relax!
Just sitting and looking out was healing in itself
You could feel the care and attention put into every corner of the space!
Four room-style zones at Forerest, good for groups
Besides the large main hall, Forerest has four separate rooms, each with a slightly different mood! And since you can get your own private room for a group gathering, it seemed like a great spot for meetups >.<
Forerest Room 1

The tables and chairs are arranged facing the window, so you and your company can sit side by side looking out at the forest while you drink your coffee
Forerest Room 2
A bit smaller than the other rooms, but with a cozy feel
Forerest Rooms 3 and 4
The tables and chairs throughout the café each have their own design and mood, so you could pick a seat to match the purpose of your gathering!! Since the weather was so nice, we sat on the terrace with the best view of the forest :)
Forerest menu and prices

Last time I had the Basque cheesecake and was genuinely moved, so this time I picked two!!!

- Iced Americano ₩5,500 (+extra shot ₩700)
- Hot Café Latte ₩6,500 (+decaf ₩1,000)
- Basque Cheesecake ₩7,500
- Matcha Basque Cheesecake ₩8,000

How do the Basque cheesecake and matcha Basque taste?
Last time, the Basque cheesecake genuinely moved me......... It's number one among all the Basque cheesecakes I've ever had

This time I also ordered the matcha Basque cheesecake!

Honestly, with a phytoncide scent and this much green in view, even just barley tea would be great, but the coffee is delicious and the desserts are too, so it's pure healing
Ultra-smooth Basque cheesecake, chilled and aged for 16 hours — you could tell how much care went into it. While we were there the staff kept mixing more batter! Food made with that much time and care can't possibly taste bad!

The owner is serious about coffee too, not just desserts — even the coffee is so delicious! Usually large, beautifully designed cafés have so-so coffee and beans, but Forerest nails coffee, dessert, and atmosphere all at once

Once you're done, just bring your tray to the table :) We'd already eaten 3 servings of samgyeopsal (grilled pork belly) and were about to burst, but we still cleared the desserts!!!!

If you're looking for a pretty café in Uijeongbu with great atmosphere plus good coffee and dessert, Forerest is a must — highly recommend!!
