Anchovy pasta and endive salad full course at Meolmeol Pangyo

The sudden chill in the air made me realize I had to enjoy this season before it slipped away, so I went for brunch in Pangyo with a friend. ✨ We grabbed something sweet at the trendy Handjeongseon dessert shop first, then headed to 'Meolmeol (MURMUR) Pangyo,' famous for brunch in Baekhyeon-dong.

I originally planned to walk the ten-ish minutes from the department store, but my friend and I got so caught up talking after not seeing each other in a while that too much time passed and we ended up taking a taxi instead... haha

Meolmeol Pangyo looked special from the moment I searched it up. A YouTuber I watch often called it their favorite Pangyo brunch spot, which made me even more excited.

What's the location and atmosphere like?

The bright, refreshing interior caught my eye immediately — it reminded me of some brunch place in Southern Europe with great natural light. The owner seems really serious about flowers, because there were different kinds of fresh flowers on every table. 💐 Soft light pouring in through the floor-to-ceiling windows, the sentimental interior, and the fresh flowers all together made my heart race a little... 💛

Whenever I come to the Baekhyeon-dong café street I always park at the Baekhyeon-dong public parking lot, and Meolmeol also supports 1 hour there, so don't forget to get the discount. 😘 I visited on a weekday at an in-between time so there was no wait, but on weekend lunches or peak times there can be a line, so I'd recommend booking through Naver Reservation before you go!

Menu and how to order

The menu is built around fresh, seasonal ingredients turned into European brunch and Italian dining dishes. The vibe the place is going for is very European, and I thought the menu fit that perfectly.

Once you're seated, you order through a QR code at each table, so it never feels chaotic! And since payment goes through at the same time as the order, it's also easy when you're leaving.

It's kid-friendly, so kids' tableware and chairs are set up nicely off to one side. It seems like it would be lovely to sit out on the terrace with a little one, too ✨ It's also a pet-friendly restaurant, so I got to meet some cute furry friends too 🐕🐈

The signature dishes are the homemade lasagna, oil pasta, and endive salad, and there's a good range of drinks that pair well with the food. There are also simple desserts and drinks, so it's a great spot to eat a meal and then settle in with coffee at the same table.

Honest review of what we ordered

We must have been really hungry that day, because we ordered the full course — pre-meal bread, salad, main pasta and lasagna, and a refreshing drink to finish. 🫧

Bread3 & Whipped Butter (₩8,000)

Worried we'd struggle waiting for the food, we added the pre-meal bread first. The warm bread had a crisp crust with a moist, chewy inside that was really charming. 🥐 The butter served alongside was so soft and rich in flavor that spreading it on was more than enough to gently wake up our appetite before the meal.

Raspberry Endive Salad (₩19,000)

The crisp, refreshing crunch particular to endive was perfectly soaked with sweet-tart raspberry Greek yogurt, filling the mouth with freshness. 🥗 The clean, fresh taste of the greens balanced beautifully with the tang of the berry dressing, and with the peach and jamón added in, it felt less like a salad and more like a complete dish.

Spicy Lemon Anchovy Pasta (₩23,000)

This pasta has oil steeped in the deep umami particular to anchovy, exquisitely brightened with lemon zest and juice. Since it was my first time having anchovy, I was worried it might taste fishy, but it was pure umami and I loved it. 🍝

By the end there was a gentle kick of heat that rose up, which harmonized beautifully with the other dishes. I'd definitely recommend the Spicy Lemon Anchovy Pasta! It's seasoned a little on the strong side, but it was good enough that we scraped up every last bit of sauce... 🍋💛

Grandma's Lasagna (₩23,000)

Wide, chewy fresh pasta sheets are layered generously with a hearty meat ragu simmered carefully for a long time and rich, creamy cheese melted in between each layer. Lasagna can sometimes be so heavy that you fill up fast or your stomach feels off, but Meolmeol's lasagna sat really light — mild enough that I could have kept eating. ✨

Lemon Cream Tea (₩7,000)

A bright, tangy lemon tea base comes topped with a generous mound of soft, sweet house-made cream foam. I was really curious what it would taste like. 🍋✨ The first sip seemed all sweet, soft cream with lemon zest adding a subtle hint of lemon, but then the tangy lemon tea followed and finished it off cleanly — I really liked it.

Also, if you take part in the review event you can get a yuzu bingsu (shaved ice) — everyone should make sure to have that before leaving. The tanginess of the yuzu and the coolness of the finely shaved ice cleanse the palate for the perfect finish.

If you want to take dreamy photos with sensual plating and natural light, I'd recommend claiming the seats by the floor-to-ceiling windows. On the other hand, if you want a quiet, calm space to focus on conversation, the tables further inside feel much cozier.

In spring and fall there are also outdoor terrace seats, which looked really nice too... Outside the terrace is a playground, so it seemed like a great spot to visit with kids as well.

From the pre-meal bread to the fresh raspberry endive salad, the spicy-tangy anchovy pasta, and the deep, hearty grandma's lasagna, the balance of flavors across the menu was truly excellent. It's a Pangyo brunch hotspot that would be great for meeting friends, a date, or a family gathering, and next time I want to make sure to try the truffle pasta and baby potato fries I missed out on this time ❤️
