I had visited before, and I love that there is such a deep, spacious area hidden beyond what you see from the entrance.

The address is 12 Aju-ro 47beon-gil, Paldal-gu, Suwon, Gyeonggi-do, South Korea, and it is open daily from 11:00 to 22:00, with last orders at 21:30. Takeout, group visits, and Wi-Fi are available, and you can get one Americano refill when each person orders a drink. Takeout orders receive a ₩1,000 discount.

Pass the entrance, where the order counter and cute character accessories are visible through the clear glass windows, then head farther in and a surprisingly roomy space opens up.

The warm wood-toned floors, large communal table, sofa seating along the walls, and individual tables create such a settled atmosphere. The lighting and outlet placement are well set up so university students can comfortably work on laptops or do assignments.

I do not think they had sando when I went last time... but it looks like they do now??

More dessert choices at Jo Hui-tak Coffee! The display case is filled with colorful fresh-fruit sando (fruit-and-cream sandwiches) that suit the season, along with thick slices of cake, making it a visual treat.

The signature chocolate cake and coffee pairing

I ordered the signature chocolate cake, a decaf Americano, and a vanilla latte.

The signature chocolate cake I tried that day had layers of sweet sandwich cream and rich dark chocolate, and was served with cute sprinkles on top.

When you cut off a bite with a fork, the moist chocolate sponge and luxuriously smooth filling melt gently in your mouth.

The refreshing iced Americano and sweet vanilla latte we ordered alongside it had excellent bean balance, neatly cutting through the richness of the sweet chocolate cake.

Coffee that goes with chocolate cake

When having the sweet, deeply flavored signature chocolate cake, I recommend pairing it with an iced Americano with a distinct bitter edge. The cake's sweetness and the nutty flavor of the beans strike a refreshing balance, so it stays delicious right to the end. You can also make use of the Americano refill offered when each person orders a drink for a more leisurely dessert time.

Things to know before visiting

Because it is popular, the inner seats can fill up quickly with people studying at cafés and other visitors during peak hours. It is a little unfortunate that there is no dedicated parking, as it is located in a university-area alley commercial district.

The spacious, comfortable surprise space hidden beyond the entrance, along with the high-quality cake and sando lineup, was impressive. The desserts are excellent and the refill benefit makes this perfect for spending time near Ajou University. ⭐⭐⭐⭐(4.5/5)
