Attention to anyone looking for a bar date spot near Suwon Station~ Yukhoe (raw beef tartare) is my favorite kind of light drinking snack, and today I'm introducing Yukhoe Dokjon, a yukhoe spot that's been around Suwon Station for over 10 years~

I visited Yukhoe Dokjon Suwon Station Branch, a bar near Suwon Station! It's made only with hanwoo, so you can really enjoy fresh yukhoe here haha.
Where is Yukhoe Dokjon Suwon Station Branch? 1st floor of Dream Plaza

This is Yukhoe Dokjon, a yukhoe specialty bar near Suwon Station! It's on the 1st floor of the Dream Plaza building.

Right from the entrance, there are appetizing photos of yukhoe~ I've always thought that dishes like yukhoe and yuksashimi (raw beef slices) feel light and less guilt-inducing as a diet snack(?), and even without drinking I crave this dish regularly, so it's one I have a lot of affection for haha.

Yukhoe Dokjon only serves yukhoe made from chilled hanwoo, and since they've been doing this in front of Suwon Station for over 10 years, I trust them as a yukhoe specialist! Frozen yukhoe at wedding buffets has its own charm, but meat definitely loses flavor once frozen haha.

The restaurant has a long, narrow layout, and even late on a weekday there were tables enjoying yukhoe, and new customers kept coming in while I was eating!

Yukhoe Dokjon menu: abalone hanwoo yukhoe for 32,000 won
Here's the menu~ You can have yukhoe or yuksashimi together with live octopus or abalone sashimi~ Abalone and octopus are pretty good year-round, but they'd taste even better if you go when they're at their peak, right??

A basic broth came out~ The flame underneath was stronger than expected, so it boiled nicely.

The main dish, abalone hanwoo yukhoe, has arrived! The portion is quite generous for 32,000 won, so the price is great haha.

Just looking at it, you can tell it's fresh, right?

Three sauces for the yukhoe: black sesame, gochujang and sesame oil
Three sauces came out, so I first tried dipping the yukhoe in the gray black sesame sauce! It was truly fresh yukhoe — not tough, no odor, exactly as fresh as it looked~

It goes great with gochujang too, of course haha.
Between the three sauces provided, I kept alternating between the black sesame sauce and the gochujang sauce.
And then the sesame oil sauce too! They gave a generous amount of sauce, so it's great for dipping a lot.
The egg yolk had a pretty color and was nice and round, a good egg, so I mixed it into half of the yukhoe~

Live abalone, radish sprouts and perilla leaves: how fresh was the plate?
Now it's abalone's turn! Live abalone prices are good these days, and the freshness was solid too, giving it a nice chewy texture.

I put it on top of the yukhoe like this too haha.

The radish sprouts served alongside, and even the perilla leaves that acted as a base for the yukhoe and abalone, were all fresh! Do you all eat radish sprouts? Sometimes the meat is great but the radish sprouts aren't in good condition, which is a bit disappointing haha. Yukhoe Dokjon Suwon Station Branch wasn't like that — every ingredient was fresh, which I liked~

Adding seaweed and cheese at Yukhoe Dokjon and wrapping everything together
About halfway through the yukhoe, I thought of seaweed and cheese and added them~ They don't come out at first, so if you want to eat them from the start, please order them separately!

Like this, I put cheese on the seaweed and piled on yukhoe, abalone, and radish sprouts! Abalone and yukhoe are always delicious no matter when you eat them~ As I mentioned above, this kind of light snack feels less guilt-inducing while dieting, right? Hahaha (but the soju,,,,)
Is Yukhoe Dokjon Suwon Station Branch worth a visit?
