I was driving around near Mulwang Reservoir on a weekday afternoon, looking for a café with good vibes, when I ended up at Flowerpot Cafe & Bakery.

The atmosphere was a bit different from typical big cafés, with nature blending in so naturally around it that I could already sense the view was going to be great before even stepping inside.

The first thing that caught my eye walking into the first floor was the plants tucked into every corner. All that greenery gave the place a relaxed feel that felt distinctly different from a city café — it was genuinely healing just to be in that space.

We ordered injeolmi patbingsu (shaved ice with sweet rice cake) and mont blanc that day.

The texture was different from typical patbingsu rice cakes — it really had that nutty, chewy quality of actual injeolmi. The sweetness of the red bean and the nutty flavor unique to injeolmi came together with the ice better than I expected.

The indoor space felt cozy yet full of atmosphere, great for sitting comfortably and taking in the scenery, and if the weather's nice, spending time in the outdoor space looking out at nature seemed like a great idea too.

We happened to visit in the evening, right around sunset.

As the sun slowly went down, the mood of the sky kept shifting, and the view was genuinely beautiful. Being able to watch the sunset while eating bread and dessert made it feel less like a simple bakery café visit and more like a little trip.
