Why Black Garlic Salt Bread was the best bite of our Danyang trip

If I had to pick one thing out of everything I ate while traveling around Danyang over Chuseok, it's the black garlic salt bread without a doubt. This was the tastiest thing I had.

• Set 1: 4 original (₩11,000)
• Set 2: 2 original + 1 garlic + 1 black garlic (₩13,000)

It's a bakery inside Danyang Market, and the sets are split into three flavors — original, garlic, and black garlic. We wanted to try a bit of everything, so we got a mixed set with original, garlic, and black garlic. The car filled up with such a savory smell. Isn't that basically cheating?🙄

Eaten in the car, then again at home: salt bread as a travel gift

We each had one Black Garlic Salt Bread in the car with the kids on the way back first. The salty edge balanced so well with the soft bread, it was genuinely delicious.

Both the outside and inside are super moist with a soft, pillowy texture, and even my younger one, who's picky about salty bread, ate it happily! 👍 Once you start, you just keep going.

We ate the leftovers again once we got home, and the funny thing is, even after some time had passed, the taste was exactly the same. Pairing it with milk was an even bigger upgrade! Most breads lose their flavor a lot once they cool down, so the fact that this one didn't change was quite impressive to me.

Both kids ate Black Garlic Salt Bread happily, and my husband especially loved this one the most. Out of everything we ate on the trip, this bread was the one thing the whole family agreed on without a single objection.

It's the kind of bread that's inoffensive enough for everyone to like, but still clearly delicious — so I recommend it 👍 I worried the distinct garlic smell might be too much, but it's subtly worked into the dough so it goes down naturally. The black garlic flavor adds a gentle sweetness too, giving it a charm different from the original!

Black Garlic Salt Bread comes packed in a paper bag with a separate handle attached, which made it easy to carry around.

It's a small thing, but you can feel the care put into a detail like that, which made receiving it even more pleasant. It's packaging that would hold up perfectly well as a gift too. There's even a certain fun in ending a trip loaded down with bags in both hands!
