Donpeiyaki and weekday lunch waits at Songdo Triple Street: Jojo

In short

Jojo Triple Street Branch is a Japanese teppan (iron griddle) restaurant on the 1st floor of Building C at Triple Street in Songdo, Yeonsu, Incheon. Even at weekday lunch there was a short wait, so joining the CatchTable waitlist made getting a table easy, and the signature two-person set — Jojo okonomiyaki, yakisoba and donpeiyaki — arrived hot on the tabletop griddle. The okonomiyaki was sweet and soft while the yakisoba was salty and savory, a combination worth eating back and forth.

I was wandering around Songdo Triple Street trying to figure out what to eat when I found

Jojo Triple Street Branch!

I usually love okonomiyaki, so I figured this was my chance to have a proper Japanese teppan meal.

How long is the weekday lunch wait at Jojo?

Since it's on the 1st floor of Building C at Songdo Triple Street, it was easy to find‼️ Jojo, famous as the teppan master from Culinary Class Wars 2, had a bit of a wait even during weekday lunch hours. Putting your name on the CatchTable waitlist gets you in pretty quickly though.

The interior is clean, with tables for 2 and for 4. Being able to watch the teppan cooking right in front of you felt like a little slice of Japan, which was a nice touch.

Jojo's menu and the signature two-person set

Jojo's okonomiyaki and yakisoba menu board

The menu had quite a variety — different types of okonomiyaki, plus yakisoba, monjayaki, donpeiyaki, and other teppan dishes. If it's your first visit, there's a signature two-person set that lets you try several things at once: Jojo okonomiyaki + yakisoba + donpeiyaki. Everything's also available à la carte, so you can pick based on your taste. We went with the signature two-person set that day.

A griddle set into each table at Jojo

It was so cool that every table has its own griddle. Teppan food really does taste best piping hot, right out of the pan, and at Jojo you get to eat everything hot from start to finish.

Every table comes with spicy fire sauce, Jojo's special sauce, and mayo sauce, so you can drizzle on more depending on your taste. Don't forget to grab a free drink with a Naver receipt review.

What does Jojo's okonomiyaki taste like?

A whole Jojo okonomiyaki on the griddle

The look alone was on point, haha. A big okonomiyaki right on the griddle, drenched in sweet sauce and mayo — my mouth was watering the second I saw it. 🤤 Inside there was cabbage along with shrimp, squid, and meat, so even one slice felt pretty filling.

Cross-section of okonomiyaki topped with sauce and mayo

Golden and crisp on the outside, moist inside, with the cabbage still keeping a nice crunch — loved it. And of course the teriyaki sauce + mayo combo never misses. I added some of the spicy fire sauce too, and the kick was exactly my style.

Jojo's yakisoba with pickled ginger on the side

And then my favorite — yakisoba! Chewy noodles with meat and vegetables, coated nicely in sauce — delicious on its own, but pairing it with the pickled ginger that came alongside brightened up the palate and brought out a whole different flavor.

If the okonomiyaki was sweet and soft, the yakisoba was salty and savory! Going back and forth between the two, I just kept eating, haha.

Is donpeiyaki good for kids?

And no teppan meal is complete without donpeiyaki! Under a fluffy layer of egg there's pork and vegetables, topped generously with sauce and mayo.

The soft egg + savory meat + sweet sauce combination made it a fairly easy dish to share with kids too. Personally, I liked ordering it alongside the okonomiyaki so we could split up and try a bit of everything.

Watching the teppan cooking happen right in front of you, Jojo isn't just about okonomiyaki — you get to pick from yakisoba, donpeiyaki, monjayaki, and more Japanese teppan dishes, which I really appreciated.

When is the best time to visit Jojo?

This Japanese teppan restaurant at Songdo Triple Street has an overall casual vibe, good for meals with friends or a date, and it's also a convenient spot to stop into while shopping at Triple Street. If you're like me and love okonomiyaki, it's worth a visit at least once when you're at Songdo Triple Street! The food comes out hot straight off the griddle, so there's fun in the eating and it looks great in photos too 📸. It's also a great location for a full course — shopping, a good meal, and a café in Songdo. Next time I'd like to try other okonomiyaki varieties and the monjayaki too.
