Given the nature of Sangam-dong, waits can get long during lunch hour with office workers, so I'd recommend visiting a bit early or using a waitlist system like Catch Table or Table-ing.

Among Solsot's many pot rice menu items, I ordered the 'Sea Bream Scallop Pot Rice (₩17,000)', which is by far the bestseller.

What comes with the 17,000 won sea bream and scallop pot rice

After ordering the sea bream scallop pot rice for ₩17,000 and waiting a bit, a neat single-person tray arrives with the pot rice, basic side dishes, seaweed, soy sauce, salad, and a bottle of warm broth, all laid out neatly.

The moment you lift the lid, a savory aroma bursts out — a thick, cleanly grilled piece of white sea bream, golden-seared scallops, chopped green onion, savory sesame seeds, and a piece of butter are all packed in densely, with no empty space.

Just looking at it makes your mouth water — such a neat, appetizing visual~

The thick piece of sea bream and the beautifully seared scallops piled on top so generously made me so happy~ Kallog here is a scallop lover~

How to eat the sea bream and scallop pot rice, and how it tastes

I gently broke apart the sea bream flesh with a spoon, then mixed the butter and rice evenly together. There was soy sauce available, but since Kallog likes clean flavors, I didn't mix it in.

Pot rice mixed with sea bream flesh and butter

I took a big spoonful of the well-mixed rice, and the cleanness of the sea bream and the chewy, tender texture of the scallops spread throughout my mouth. The savoriness of the butter and the fragrance of the green onion combined for an explosion of umami~

Salad served alongside the pot rice

In between, I ate some of the salad,

A bite of sea bream scallop pot rice wrapped in seaweed

and when you wrap the pot rice in the provided seaweed, it gets a salty, savory taste~ The sea bream flesh was so tender that it melted softly together with the rice — absolutely superb.

The nurungji finish: pouring sea bream and bonito broth over scorched rice

The real charm that completes a Solsot meal is the 'nurungji' (scorched rice) you enjoy after the meal. You pour the warm sea bream and bonito-based broth from the accompanying bottle into the pot and cover it with the lid. Because it's made with a special broth rather than plain water, it has a depth and savory umami far beyond ordinary sungnyung (scorched rice tea).

The buttery flavor that had soaked into the rice, the deep taste of the broth, and the crispy scorched rice all dissolve together, maximizing the savoriness. Even though I was already full, it was addictive enough that I kept eating — a perfectly warm and comforting way to end the meal.

Is Solsot Sangam worth it for a DMC lunch?

I'd recommend this restaurant to office workers near Sangam-dong DMC looking for a neat meal that feels like being taken care of, as well as to those looking for a clean date course or a Korean restaurant to take their parents to. If you want a meal in Sangam-dong that's got the taste, care, and atmosphere all perfectly covered, I highly recommend trying the pot rice at 'Solsot Sangam Branch'!
