Grilled fish near Jeju Airport: Naneun Jigeum Saengseoni Meokgo Sipda, Yongdam
For my last meal in Jeju, I went to Naneun Jigeum Saengseoni Meokgo Sipda Yongdam Airport Branch. It's at 168 Yongmun-ro, 1st floor, Jeju-si, close to Jeju Airport, so the location is a huge plus when you're hunting for a good grilled fish restaurant in Jeju. My flight was the next morning, so my accommodation was near the airport too.
When you're in Jeju, you have to have a proper grilled fish spread, right? Especially before or after the airport, something Korean but not too heavy hits the spot.

"I Want to Eat Fish Right Now" — isn't that a hilarious name for a restaurant?
It's not far from Jeju Airport, so it's a convenient spot for your first or last meal of the trip.

The interior had that easygoing, comfortable-meal vibe you'd expect from a grilled fish restaurant.
This place says it grills fish delivered fresh every day over charcoal.

Near the entrance there's a display case with the fish used for grilling, and you can also see them being grilled from the kitchen area. Grilling fish at home is kind of a hassle because of the smell, right? That's the charm of a place like this — eating freshly grilled, warm fish with rice.

A magazine-style menu with Jeju sightseeing tips
At Naneun Jigeum Saengseoni Meokgo Sipda Yongdam Airport Branch, there's a magazine at every table — and that's actually the menu! Haha.

It's a menu, but it also has tourist info, so give it a flip through after you order. Such a great idea, haha.

Menu and prices: Big Son's set, mom's set and solo set
The menu names are fun too — divided by family member, like Big Son's set, Little Son's set, Dad's set, and Mom's set. Big Son's set is ₩36,000 for two and comes with assorted grilled fish and stew, while Mom's set is ₩26,000 for two with grilled fish, stir-fried pork, and stew. There's even a solo set for ₩12,000, so it's easy to pick something even if you're traveling alone.

Order the mom's set for three and pick two stews and two fish
We ordered the mom's set for three! It's normally set for two people, but ordering it for three meant we could pick two stews and two fish. Total jackpot! It really was that generous.
As you can see in the photo, the table came together with grilled fish, stew, stir-fried pork, and several side dishes, making it a satisfying, hearty meal.

The banchan to refill: seasoned seaweed, two or three times
They must have some real skill in the kitchen, because the banchan (side dishes) were genuinely all delicious.

The one I refilled two or three times was the seasoned seaweed with vinegar — it was so good I kept going back for more, haha.

There was also bean sprouts, great for kids, and the diced radish kimchi had real depth of flavor.

Grilled flounder and grilled hairtail off the charcoal
We ordered grilled flounder and grilled hairtail. Flounder is missing from the menu at a lot of grilled fish restaurants, so it was nice to see it again after a while.

The fish came out with a nicely browned surface, great for putting flakes of it over rice. If you want to try several kinds of fish, go for the assorted grilled fish set.

If you want stir-fried pork along with fish, like we did, go with the mom's set. Laid out like this, it really felt like a full, delicious home-cooked meal :)
Since it's a travel destination, lots of families come here, right? Instead of a table that's all fish, being able to add pork or stew makes it easy to please everyone even if family members have different tastes.

Naneun Jigeum Saengseoni Meokgo Sipda Yongdam Airport Branch has a wide range of options, from grilled fish sets to braised dishes and solo meals. Keep this in mind if you want a warm meal with a spread of grilled fish near Jeju Airport!
