Jeju media art gallery with sindari drinks for toddlers: Nohyeong

Today I went to the one place you absolutely have to visit when it rains during a trip. Here's my review of Nohyeong Supermarket ☔️

Where is Nohyeong Supermarket, and what are the hours and ticket prices?

Nohyeong Supermarket is located at 89 Nohyeong-ro, Jeju City, Jeju, open daily 09:00–19:00 (last ticket sale 18:00). No closed days, completely open year-round — there's a reason it's such a famous Jeju attraction.

For admission you can choose entry-only or a package that adds a drink. Jeju residents get ₩2,000 off~

Nohyeong General Store: where to buy Jeju souvenirs on site

On the 1st floor of Nohyeong Supermarket, right across from the ticket booth, there's a café and a general store that doubles as a souvenir shop. It's got all kinds of Jeju snacks and goods, so it's fun just to browse, and if you're a tourist you could honestly skip other souvenir stops and just buy everything here in one go.

Sindari and boriggaeyeok: the Jeju welcome drinks included with the ticket

If you go with the drink-included package ticket, you get to try Jeju's traditional drinks too. You can choose between sindari and boriggaeyeok haha~

There's a really wide range of drinks and snacks available. Plenty for a quick sugar boost~

One drink per person is included in the package, so I picked ours.

Sindari (fermented rice drink) wasn't really my style, but boriggaeyeok (roasted barley powder drink) is basically like misugaru (roasted grain powder drink), so it's pretty easy to enjoy. Instead of the usual generic drinks you get at tourist spots, getting something this distinctly Jeju really made it feel like a proper trip. There's tangerine juice for the kids too. Our family tried sindari and h...haha, it was such a new flavor for us, everyone was fascinated.

The retro rooms at Nohyeong Supermarket that make adults nostalgic

Nohyeong Supermarket isn't just flashy media art — there are retro touches hidden throughout. Apparently the Nohyeong Supermarket building itself has been there since the old days.

So it seems like they built this media art gallery around that same spot, keeping the memories of that era alive. That's probably why it works so well as a destination for the whole family.

Kids get an exciting experience, adults get a trip down memory lane — a combination that satisfies both sides, so I'd strongly recommend it to families as a must-do course in Jeju City on a rainy day.

There are plenty of seats for adults too, so while the kids run around, the grown-ups can sit and enjoy the exhibits — my husband ended up dozing off a bit haha, oh well.

Jeju's first immersive, hands-on media art gallery, zone by zone

When you search for it, Nohyeong Supermarket always comes up as a top pick for things to do in Jeju City and a must-do on rainy days, and now I get why.

It's not just media art you sit and watch — the screens react when you run around and touch them, so it's genuinely interactive content, and my 5-year-old was seriously thrilled and ran everywhere.

Kids and adults alike had a blast haha. Cloudy days, snowy days, rainy days — no matter the bad weather, I don't think there's a better trip option than this.

There's even a gacha machine and a review event inside, so it's nice to do one round of each while you're going around. Little trip surprises like that are so sweet~ It really feels like a space packed with lots of extras, great for making memories with kids.

With 7 different media art zones, just sitting and watching wasn't boring at all. Where do you usually take shelter when it rains during a Jeju trip? My son keeps asking to come back here every single day haha.
