Seomyeon Korean bar for a first round with friends: Yuumangju
In short
Yuumangju Seomyeon Branch is a new Korean bar and restaurant on the 2nd floor at the entrance to Manchwi-gil in Seomyeon, Busan. Three friends who finally matched schedules stopped by for a first round and shared yukhoe saeujang kalbibim (beef tartare and marinated shrimp rice bibim) and flying fish roe rice balls, which were neither salty nor spicy and generous enough to fill all three. With modern, roomy seating and a 2nd-floor window view, Yuumangju is a place they would clearly visit again.

So much food, such good vibes, genuinely delicious — a brand-new bar in Seomyeon!! Here's my story of eating yukhoe (beef tartare) shrimp jang kalbibim at Yuumangju Seomyeon Branch, on the 2nd floor right at the entrance to Manchwi-gil.

ㄴ Apparently if you book on Naver and leave a review, you get free ice cream! Make sure to grab that.

These days it's genuinely hard to get everyone's schedules to line up once your friends start working... but on one lucky day, my schedule matched up with my friends' and we headed out to Seomyeon. We were debating what to have for dinner when we spotted a brand-new bar called Yuumangju on Manchwi-gil, so we went for it properly ~~ Perfect for a first round too! Here's my review.
Where is Yuumangju Seomyeon Branch, and where do you park?

Ugh... I honestly can't look at this photo without saying something. That visual is just too tempting... there was no way we could walk past it, haha. Spoiler alert: this photo is exactly what lured us into ordering the yukhoe & seasoned shrimp jang kalbibim! Haha.

A short walk from Exit 6 of Seomyeon Station gets you to Yuumangju Seomyeon Branch! It's right at the entrance to Manchwi-gil. There's no parking near the shop itself, so you'll need a nearby paid lot (Angel Parking). It's on the 2nd floor!
Seating and atmosphere at Yuumangju: bar seats that work for solo drinking
I half expected Yuumangju Seomyeon Branch to have that slightly old-school look you'd expect from a Korean bar, but nope — it was modern, and I loved it. The vibe was great... 👍🏻 Clean and cozy, so it worked whether you're on a date for two or out with friends. The tables between seats were on the wider side too!

Spacious enough, it'd be perfect for a work dinner too.

There's also a bar table, so it's great for coming alone for a solo drink 😄

The menu is also on Naver, so it might help to check there too! I only photographed the main menu items ~

Oh! There's another great thing about this place — being on the 2nd floor, it's quiet and calm, and the view outside was really pretty, so I was super, super satisfied. Women would really love this, haha.
Beef tartare shrimp kalbibim and roe rice balls: enough food for three?
What we ordered at Yuumangju Seomyeon Branch was the yukhoe (beef tartare) shrimp jang kalbibim and flying fish roe rice balls. Three of us women ate to bursting on just these two dishes.

As soon as we sat down they gave us a pre-meal grilled baguette! Sweet and great as a palate cleanser. And not long after, out came... drumroll drumroll drumroll...

The yukhoe shrimp jang kalbibim 💗 and flying fish roe rice balls 😻 Ah, just looking at the photos makes me hungry again. Seriously... my mouth's watering, it was that good.

The colors alone are ridiculous 😻 One bite of kalbibim with the beef tartare, one bite of the springy shrimp jang, and it's pure bliss. Not too salty, not too spicy, just right so anyone could enjoy it — we really, really ate well, haha. With the flying fish roe popping in your mouth too... eaten with the rice, the portion felt really filling, genuinely delicious. Three women eating it, so great value too!!
Honestly we thought about greedily adding extra noodles or another dish... but we were already so full that we reluctantly gave up, tears in our eyes ㅜㅜ. The beef tartare was piled on generously too, so I was super, super satisfied. You can trust it. It was genuinely delicious, haha.
Would we go back to Yuumangju Seomyeon Branch?
I went in expecting a new Seomyeon bar, but it exceeded expectations — genuinely delicious and great atmosphere, a real hotspot in Seomyeon! Yuumangju, I ate well and I'm heading out happy, haha. My friends said this place was such a find that they saved the location, haha. Absolutely, definitely coming back next time!
