Seomyeon bar open till 3am, cheese that never hardens: Yuumangju
In short
Yuumangju Seomyeon Branch is a Korean bar-restaurant on the 2nd floor of the Sseolpa building along Manchwi-gil in Seomyeon, Busanjin, Busan. A married couple stopped in for a first round and ordered Yuumangju-da-moattak (a mixed chicken hot-stone platter) and a flying fish roe rice ball; because the gas burner under the stone plate stays lit, the mozzarella never hardened and stretched to the last bite. Piled only with boneless chicken neck and thigh meat, the platter alone filled up two people.

Where is Yuumangju Seomyeon Branch? 2nd floor of the Sseolpa building on Manchwi-gil

Yuumangju, the newest hotspot bar in Seomyeon, sits right on Manchwi-gil ('the drunk street'). It's on the 2nd floor of the well-known landmark Sseolpa building, so it was super easy to find.

Before heading up to the 2nd floor, I scanned the food menu on the store banner — Yuumangju is a Seomyeon bar that mostly serves Korean-style dishes to go with drinks!

Inside Yuumangju Seomyeon Branch: black-and-gray interior that fits groups

Since it just opened recently, the inside felt really clean. It's mostly black and gray tones — dim, but the lighting was bright enough to make conversation easy.

There were so many tables that I thought it'd be great for group get-togethers, and sure enough there were two college groups in the middle of the hall, each with quite a few people! If you're looking for a Seomyeon bar for group meetups, Yuumangju seems like a solid pick.

Nice posters and framed art hung on the walls, giving it great vibes overall! There were also bar seats where you can sit side by side, facing the open kitchen — they clearly take cleanliness seriously.
Yuumangju Seomyeon Branch menu: Korean bar dishes, bingsu and house-made makgeolli

The main dishes to go with drinks were all Korean-style. None of the main dishes felt overpriced, so it seemed like an easy place to drop by without worrying about cost.

On top of that, there were plenty of side dishes, plus bingsu (shaved ice dessert) if you get a sweet craving after drinking — lots of options to choose from!

Drinks-wise, they had soju, beer, highballs, and even house-made makgeolli (rice wine), so it felt like you could cover both the first and second round at this one Seomyeon bar, haha.
- Yuumangju-da-moattak (mixed chicken hot-stone platter)
- Flying fish roe rice ball
We came for a first round, and since our main order had a bit of a broth-like element, we also got the flying fish roe rice ball as a side.
Flying fish roe rice ball: loaded with roe, seaweed flakes and plenty of rice

The flying fish roe rice ball came out first, ready to mix!! They piled on a ton of flying fish roe and seaweed flakes. The rice portion was generous too, so it was quite filling.

Yuumangju-da-moattak: why the gas burner keeps the cheese from hardening
Right after, our main dish arrived — the Yuumangju-da-moattak. I gasped the moment I saw it, haha.

The hot stone plate came topped with chicken neck meat, chicken thigh meat, cheese, and even corn — the portion was massive, haha. And since it was already fully cooked in the kitchen, we could dig in right away without waiting around, which was great!!

Because it came on a hot stone plate, there was no worry about it getting cold, and on top of that they set up a gas burner, so it stayed piping hot the whole way through, just like when it first arrived. Dishes with cheese like this usually disappoint me because the cheese hardens after just five minutes, but with the hot stone plate plus the gas burner, you could watch the cheese stay stretchy and never set — it just kept pulling and pulling.

The visuals are top-tier..! It had a bit of a kick for someone who can't handle spice like me, but it was so nicely sweet-and-spicy that it didn't stop me at all! This really felt like the perfect pairing with the flying fish roe rice ball as a side, haha.

So much chicken thigh and neck meat piled on! And with the chives on top, the visuals were amazing too.

Mozzarella pizza cheese plus corn kernels — how am I supposed to resist that?

Couldn't hold back, so — cheers! — and then we dug right in, haha. Total go-to spot for drinking food, this Seomyeon bar Yuumangju!!

How much boneless chicken you get: enough for two
Each piece of chicken neck and thigh meat was big, and there were so many pieces that even my husband and I together got completely full! No dry chicken breast at all — just soft, chewy chicken thigh and neck meat.. and boneless, easy to eat.. amazing.

Look at that cheese stretch, seriously.. It's such a cheese bomb that no matter how much you eat, there's still more! The pizza cheese never hardens on the hot stone plate, just keeps stretching, paired with the sweet-spicy sauce and chicken thigh meat 👍 Looking at these photos makes me want it again!!

Service and verdict: mix the rice ball into the sauce for a full meal
Ugh.. we came out to drink, but how good does it feel when the food is this generous and this good? The owner was really, really kind too — even in the middle of a busy crowd with all those group customers, requests came out fast and the service stayed friendly the whole time!

While eating, mixing the sauce with the cheese, chicken thigh meat, and rice ball together basically turned it into a full meal on its own! Generous, filling portions made Yuumangju a great pick for a first round in Seomyeon :)
