Songpa Korean BBQ with slushy soju and snowflake galbi: Dangsan Odol
In short
Dangsan Odol Bangi Branch is a charcoal Korean BBQ restaurant in Songpa, Seoul, about 195 meters from Exit 4 of Bangi Station. On a Sunday at 1:30 p.m. the table held snowflake galbi (200g, 25,000 won) and Australian shoulder rack lamb ribs (200g, 25,000 won) with mussel doenjang stew, steamed egg and Jipyeong raw makgeolli, and the soju came out as an icy slush that turned lunch into day drinking. With its own parking lot and a private group room, Dangsan Odol Bangi Branch also works well for family gatherings.

Around 1:30pm on a Sunday, I went out for meat near Bangi Station and ended up at Dangsan Odol Bangi Branch.
That day I ordered snowflake galbi (marbled short ribs) and lamb ribs, plus mussel doenjang (soybean paste) stew, steamed egg, Jipyeong raw makgeolli, and soju.
The meat was delicious, but what stuck with me most was something else. The soju wasn't just cold — when poured, it was cold enough to turn into a slushy. Starting with a glass of makgeolli, then charcoal-grilled meat, then ice-cold soju, lunch naturally turned into a day-drinking session.

- The snowflake galbi had great beefy flavor, and the lamb ribs were tender with no gamey smell.
- There's a spacious private parking lot out front and a group room, so it's good for family gatherings or holiday meals.
- I'd recommend pairing the meat with the spicy mussel doenjang stew afterward.
How to get to Dangsan Odol Bangi Branch, and is there parking?

Dangsan Odol Bangi Branch is about 195m from Bangi Station Exit 4.

If you drive, the parking space is the first thing you notice as you arrive. There's a spacious private lot in front of the building, which made it convenient for a gathering where family members arrived in separate cars.

Inside Dangsan Odol Bangi Branch: group room and self-serve bar
Inside, the restaurant stretches back quite a way. Besides regular tables, there's a separate group room.

When looking for a spot for a family or holiday gathering at a BBQ restaurant, parking and seating matter as much as the food, and Dangsan Odol solved both at once.

Each table has a hood overhead, and you can grab extra side dishes from the self-serve bar. Onion, pickled perilla leaves, pickled radish, spicy radish salad, and garlic were all available.
Snowflake galbi, 200g for 25,000 won: how beefy is it?

First up, snowflake galbi 200g for 25,000 won. From the moment it hit the plate, it was clear this was thick LA-style short rib cut, densely marbled throughout.

On the charcoal grill, the fat started rendering and it browned nicely, and once cut, the inside stayed moist.

The first bite was all beefy aroma. This wasn't ribs masked by sauce — the flavor centered on the meat itself, so a light dip in salt was the cleanest way to eat it.

A touch of wasabi cuts through the richness, and pairing it with pickled perilla leaves adds a salty note for a different combination. Even the parts near the bone had good chew. If you like charcoal aroma and strong beefy flavor, the snowflake galbi is the one for you.
Are the Australian lamb ribs tender and free of gaminess?
The lamb ribs were Australian shoulder rack, 200g for 25,000 won.
As you can see in the photo, it's one thick cut. I seared the surface on the charcoal first, then sliced it — despite the thickness, it wasn't tough, just tender to chew. Most notably, there was almost no trace of the gamey smell lamb can have.
Lamb can be divisive because of that smell, but the ribs I had that day didn't raise any concerns on that front. The outside developed a savory flavor from the charcoal while the inside stayed moist, not dry at all. Purely in terms of texture, I actually preferred the lamb ribs over the snowflake galbi.
They're good with a light dip in salt, and with wasabi, a sharp kick follows the tender meat flavor. If you're sensitive to lamb's smell but love tender meat, this might be the dish to order first.
Slushy soju and Jipyeong raw makgeolli: Sunday day drinking in Songpa

Since it was 1:30pm on a Sunday, we started with Jipyeong raw makgeolli alongside the meat.

Charcoal meat with a glass of makgeolli at lunchtime needs no explanation. A bite of fatty meat, a sip of makgeolli, and your palate resets, sending your chopsticks right back to the meat. Then we ordered soju too — and it's hard to skip the soju story here.

The bottle wasn't just fridge-cold — it was practically a slushy by the time it was poured into the glass. One sip and my mouth went cold instantly.
Sitting by the charcoal grill eating meat and drinking soju that cold, things picked up speed. We started with makgeolli and moved on to soju, and the process of a Sunday lunch turning into day-drinking felt completely natural.
Side dishes: mussel doenjang stew 6,000 won and steamed egg 3,000 won
The mussel doenjang stew was 6,000 won.

The broth wasn't heavily salty but leaned spicy up front. It was packed with mussels, tofu, mushrooms, and green onion, so every spoonful had something to chew on. A hot spoonful after the grilled meat cleared the residual fat from my mouth. The flavor wasn't overpowering even eaten on its own without rice, and the mussels gave it more texture than a regular doenjang stew.

The steamed egg was 3,000 won. It comes puffed up to the brim of the stone pot, moist and soft when you scoop it with a spoon. Between the charcoal meat and the spicy stew, a bite of steamed egg gives your palate a break. If you're having two kinds of meat plus drinks, pairing the mussel doenjang stew with the steamed egg worked well.
Is Dangsan Odol Bangi Branch good for family gatherings and work dinners?
Dangsan Odol Bangi Branch isn't just a place for meat — the parking and space were genuinely impressive.
There's a large private lot out front, and besides regular seats, a separate group room. It seemed like it'd make things easy whether you're dining with parents, gathering the family in multiple cars for a holiday, or holding a company dinner with a large group!

The menu also goes beyond snowflake galbi and lamb ribs to include pork and rice dishes, so it should work well for a group with varied tastes.
If I go back, I'm definitely!! ordering the lamb ribs first along with the mussel doenjang stew. If it's a daytime visit, Jipyeong makgeolli again too. And if the soju comes out on the verge of slushy like this time, not ordering it would be a crime...
