Dog-friendly Uijeongbu dakgangjeong with riverside beer: Dalgom's

I went to a word-of-mouth dakgangjeong (Korean fried chicken) spot inside Jeil Market in Uijeongbu. ✨ The shop's name is super cute — Dalgom's. It wasn't on Baemin before, but now they've started delivery through Baedal Minjok. It's cheap and delicious, so it was already popular with locals, and now it feels like people from neighboring areas are about to find out too 😊

Where Dalgom's is and where to park: free ticket from the Jeil Market lot

Dalgom's is a restaurant at 56 Simin-ro143beon-gil, Uijeongbu-si, Gyeonggi-do, tucked inside Uijeongbu Jeil Market. Park at the Jeil Market lot and they'll give you a free parking ticket.

Even though it's inside the market, you can also reach it from the street where cars pass, since there's a front door and a back door.

The photo below is the back door side. If you follow navigation, it might guide you here. But you can't park on this side — park in the market lot and find your way in from there. If you're walking, the back door works fine too!

Can you bring a dog to Dalgom's?

Dalgom's allows dogs inside. But there's also a waiting space set up out front for dogs, where you can tie a leash. Bigger dogs could wait there, and small dogs carried in a bag can come inside with you.

Inside Dalgom's: seating and ways to pay

At Dalgom's, cooking starts the moment you order. You only wait about 5 minutes. The interior was really clean — it felt like they clean with real care. They had lots of convenience items ready for customers, which felt considerate. There were colorful chairs to sit on while waiting, too. Several certificates were on display as well! Conveniently, they take all kinds of payment — Naver Pay, Kakao Pay, Onnuri gift certificates, Onnuri Digital, Zero Pay, and Gyeonggi Love Card all work.

It's modest, but there are tables where you can eat in — 4-person and 2-person tables. Though most people seemed to be picking up takeout.

Dalgom's prices and the seven dakgangjeong flavors

Half chicken is ₩9,000, whole chicken ₩17,000, 1.5 chicken ₩24,000. Flavors include Honey, Sweet, Spicy Garlic, Bburinkle, Cheese Mustard, Garlic, and Fried.

* First-time delivery through Ddaenggyeoyu gets ₩5,000 off, and in September orders over ₩15,000 get ₩2,000 off.

They stock a wide range of drinks — 17 kinds, apparently! You can get a 500ml one for ₩2,000.

How much chicken for how many people?

Since it's all boneless, comparing portions isn't easy. But they stacked the boxes so you could see it clearly. A half chicken is plenty for one person alone, a whole chicken works for two, and for three people they recommend around 1.5 chickens ✨

The open kitchen and how the chicken is fried

At Dalgom's, the frying and cooking is handled directly by a machine. Since the kitchen is open, I could check out the oil, and it was really clean. Frying in clean oil naturally makes it fresher and tastier, I think. They said they don't fry a big batch all at once — instead they fry in smaller batches, several times over, as they sell 😊

The three flavors chosen for the 1.5-chicken order

Since we were two people but going all out, I ordered 1.5 chicken 🐷 You get to pick three flavors. I went with Fried, Bburinkle, and Spicy Garlic. Apparently Spicy Garlic is right up older folks' alley and is popular with them. Bburinkle is popular with women. Basic Fried is loved by everyone. Honey and Sweet would probably be the flavors kids like.

I brought canned beer and enjoyed a riverside picnic 💗 I took all the trash home to throw away!

How the Bburinkle, plain fried and chili-garlic tasted

Freshly cooked to order — Bburinkle, Fried, and Spicy Garlic ✨ They even threw in fried rice cakes, so it was extra delicious. Crispy outside, chewy inside — a real treat.

Bburinkle was especially good to me. No surprise it's popular with women! They really dusted on a ton of powder, which made it even better. So much powder was falling off, they clearly didn't skimp on ingredients.

The basic Fried was crispy and clean-tasting, while the Spicy Garlic was a bit spicy for someone with low spice tolerance like me, but not overwhelming, which I liked! Perfect as a beer snack 😊

Trying all three flavors together was even better! But the portion was more generous than expected — it was seriously plenty for two people. Honestly, this really feels like it's meant to be shared by three 😅

They also gave us free snacks as a service! Those were a nice little treat too.

Finishing the night with beer by the Jungnangcheon stream

The weather was nice, so we headed out to Jungnangcheon for a riverside picnic and had a really fun time with a friend. Having good food made the time even better 💗 The owner was so kind — that stuck with me. They seemed passionate about the work, took pride in it, kept the place spotlessly clean, and ran a careful business, so I can see why regulars keep growing.
