Solo-night dessert café in Wangsimni, Seoul: Nerdy Blue Burrow

I really wanted to spend some quiet, relaxed time alone, so I went to a cafe called Nerdy Blue Burrow near Wangsimni haha.

Wangsimni is usually a pretty crowded, noisy area lol. But surprisingly, right after you turn a single corner, this cafe just appears out of nowhere — it felt kind of secretive, like a hideout I wanted to keep to myself, so I already loved it before even stepping inside lol.

The exterior color alone — that teal tone — was so pretty that I let out a real "wow" haha.

Once I stepped inside, soft, warm lighting wrapped around the whole space, and the vibe was so full of feeling and cozy lol.

While I was looking around after taking a seat, I noticed there's a clean restroom set up right inside the store, which was so convenient and nice lol.

Plus, the moment I stepped into the restroom, a nice fragrance drifted out, which made me feel even better the whole time I was using it haha.

What I ordered in the evening: Drunken Latte, banana pudding, classic financier

That day I wanted to load up on sweetness and lift my mood, so I picked a solid lineup of dessert and drink lol. Since it was evening, I ordered the Drunken Latte, made with a decaf cold brew base, Baileys, sweet ice cream, and a bit of alcohol mixed in lol.

For dessert, I also ordered the banana pudding and a classic financier that comes with cream haha.

How does the banana pudding taste?

The first thing I was curious about once the food arrived was the banana pudding, so I scooped up a big spoonful right away lol. Wow, one bite in and I was genuinely amazed at how good it was lol.

I already love banana pound cake and basically any bread made with banana lol.

But the banana pudding here, with its soft cream blending into the sweet banana flavor, was completely my type — after finishing it I kept wanting more lol. From the moment I dug the spoon in, I could feel the fluffy, cloud-like texture of the cream, and once it hit my mouth it just melted away, filling my whole mouth with the natural sweetness and fragrant flavor of real banana lol. The harmony between the soft cake layer and the chewy banana bits was insane lol.

The classic financier also came with a soft, sweet cream on the side, and dipping it in, the outside was pleasantly chewy yet crisp, while the inside was moist with a heavy, nutty butter aroma lol. It's amazing enough eaten on its own, but dipping it into the soft cream that came with it made it go down smoothly with zero dryness lol.

With the signature drink, the Drunken Latte, I could feel the sweet ice cream and bittersweet decaf coffee, and right at the end, the heavy, subtle alcohol scent of Baileys popped through lol. It wasn't an overly boozy feeling — the alcohol spread through pleasantly and lightly, and the more I drank, the more my mood floated up and improved lol.

Nerdy Blue Burrow's real strength is the music selection

But above everything else, what I felt was the biggest strength of Nerdy Blue Burrow was that the song selection is genuinely insane lol.

Honestly, setting everything else aside, I felt like this is a cafe worth visiting just for the owner's music taste and the songs playing lol.

As the night got deeper, the atmosphere in the store got even more mellow and nice, and every single song that came on was pure emotion — just sitting there zoned out, soaking in the music, felt genuinely healing lol.

I'm definitely planning to come back soon just to hear these insane song choices again lol.

If you want to quietly fill up on some emotional peace alone near Wangsimni, or you're looking for a cafe with delicious desserts and a playlist that'll make you go "this song selection is insane," I really strongly recommend Nerdy Blue Burrow lol.
