Euljiro3-ga gimbap restaurant with apple-carrot tteokbokki: 29 Tamago
In short
29 Tamago Euljiro Branch is an egg gimbap (seaweed rice roll) restaurant on the 2nd floor, a 4-minute walk from Exit 12 of Euljiro3-ga Station in Jung-gu, Seoul. Keto tuna gimbap at 10,500 won, Vietnamese-wrap chicken breast gimbap at 12,900 won and apple-carrot soup tteokbokki at 6,500 won came to 29,900 won, taken out and split three ways, and the amount was just right. The thick egg fills you up even without rice, and the apple-carrot tteokbokki broth was the best match for the mild, savory gimbap at 29 Tamago.

I've had a lot of work lately around Euljiro3-ga and Euljiro4-ga, so I've already visited 29 Tamago Euljiro Branch twice this month — figured I'd write up my thoughts!
I always go around 5pm when it's quiet, but apparently this place, being near a lot of offices, has an insane lunchtime waiting line! Makes sense, though — the keto gimbap is seriously delicious. It's the place I think of when I want a light-ish meal that isn't too heavy.

29 Tamago menu and what three of us ordered (29,900 won total)

29 Tamago is an egg gimbap specialist, so of course they have regular gimbap, but they also have a lot of somewhat unusual options like keto gimbap and Vietnamese-wrap style gimbap. There's keto tuna, keto crab stick, keto carrot rapee, plus chicken breast and vegetable versions too.
For sides, there's apple-carrot soup tteokbokki (spicy rice cake soup), egg-strip udon, jjolmyeon, and perilla oil buckwheat noodles — great if one roll alone feels like not enough. Personally, the apple-carrot soup tteokbokki side is so good, I order it pretty much every time I go...
What I ordered that day: keto tuna gimbap 10,500 won, Vietnamese-wrap chicken breast gimbap 12,900 won, apple-carrot soup tteokbokki 6,500 won, for a total of 29,900 won.
The gimbap portions are bigger than you'd expect, and adding the tteokbokki on top makes it a truly stomach-bursting amount — last time I split it into two meals with a friend lol. This time, sharing it three ways with friends, the amount was just right!
Inside 29 Tamago: bar, tables and window seats

29 Tamago Euljiro Branch is on the 2nd floor of the building, so it can be a little confusing the first time, but there's a standing sign out front so you can find it right away. Inside there are bar seats good for solo dining as well as tables for 2 and 4, so it's a totally comfortable spot to eat alone during lunch too!

And especially this window seat... I think it might have the prettiest restaurant view in all of Euljiro? There's a huge tree right in front of it, and the vibe is unbeatable.

Since I always get takeout, I've never actually sat there, but next time I come alone I'm definitely sitting at that seat. Better than any fancy café.

Takeout packaging and the sauce that comes with each gimbap
They packed everything so carefully, so I flew home with it in hand.

As soon as I got home, I unpacked everything. Another great thing about 29 Tamago — each gimbap roll comes with its own dipping sauce!

The Vietnamese-wrap gimbap came with ssamjang mayo, and the keto tuna came with soy sauce mayo!

Alright, let's dig in!
Keto tuna gimbap, 10,500 won

Keto tuna gimbap is one of my go-to orders at 29 Tamago! Instead of rice like regular gimbap, it's centered on rolled egg, vegetables, and tuna. It's not just tuna either — there's green leaf lettuce, carrot, burdock root, red cabbage, cucumber pepper, and more, so the cross-section is super colorful from the get-go.

Best of all, the egg is thick, so even without rice it's surprisingly filling! The tuna is savory, the egg is soft, and the vegetables in between give a crunchy texture so it's never boring. It's genuinely so big it's hard to fit in one bite... Dipped in that soy sauce mayo from earlier, it's amazing.
Vietnamese-wrap chicken breast gimbap, 12,900 won

And the one you absolutely must order at 29 Tamago — the Vietnamese-wrap gimbap. I ordered mine with chicken breast. True to its name, instead of regular gimbap, it's made by wrapping vegetables and chicken breast in rice paper~~ This must be really hard to cut, I always wonder how they manage it every time...

Compared to regular gimbap, the vegetable ratio is higher and the egg is thick too. The chewy texture unique to rice paper is really great. There's a lot of carrot in it, but it's not overly firm, so it has a pleasantly crisp bite! With chicken breast added too, you get your protein in — and while everything else is generous in portion, this Vietnamese-wrap gimbap in particular is enormous, so you'll seriously be stuffed. It's also great dipped in the ssamjang mayo that comes with it.

Apple-carrot soup tteokbokki, 6,500 won: how it pairs with gimbap
Eating just the gimbap already makes this a totally diet-friendly meal, but if you're actually hungry(?), you should definitely try this apple-carrot tteokbokki too. Even the name is a bit unusual — apparently it's a spicy-sweet soup tteokbokki with apple-carrot juice added to soften the flavor!
So honestly, I wondered if it would actually taste good...? It seemed like something made to be healthier than regular tteokbokki, so I was skeptical when I first tried it — and it was a total shock. A genuinely sweet apple flavor comes through subtly, and it was seriously delicious.
If anything, I found the spice level gentler than regular soup tteokbokki, not too spicy at all, which is a total win for me. And since the keto gimbap and Vietnamese-wrap gimbap are both pretty plain overall, taking a sip of the tteokbokki broth in between pairs perfectly — you can even dip the gimbap straight into the broth. 1000 out of 100 points.
If you're looking for egg gimbap in Euljiro, definitely give 29 Tamago a try~
