Suwon cocktail bar with a hookah room in Ingye-dong: Janhyang
In short
Honsulbar Janhyang is a new solo-drinking bar just off the main bar street in Ingye-dong, Suwon, with a separate hookah room at the back. After an afternoon around Haenggung-dong, the writer stopped by in the evening with her boyfriend for the two signature cocktails, Janhyang and Yeoun, at 15,000 won each: Janhyang tastes like sweet peach iced tea, while Yeoun is strong with a coffee note. With the lighting, music, blankets and phone chargers, Janhyang is a bar you come to for the atmosphere as much as the drinks.

It's been over two months since I moved to Osan. I keep going up to Seoul every week, and honestly, it's exhausting haha. Looking for somewhere closer than Seoul, I heard Ingye-dong and Haenggung-dong in Suwon were the hot spots, so my boyfriend and I spent last weekend in Suwon.
During the day we visited Haenggung-dong's Haengridan-gil street, browsed the little shops, and relaxed at a café. Once evening came, we hopped on bus 82-1 and headed to Ingye-dong. There are plenty of dinner spots in Haenggung-dong too, but we picked Ingye-dong for the nightlife and drinking culture!
The bar street in Ingye-dong was massive 👀🔥 We had dinner first, then went for round two at a solo-drinking bar. Today's spot: Honsulbar Janhyang in Ingye-dong, Suwon.
Finding Honsulbar Janhyang: a quiet spot just off Ingye-dong's bar street

Janhyang is a solo-drinking bar in Ingye-dong, Suwon — a brand-new, still fresh-off-the-press spot. Thankfully there's no age limit ❌, and it sits in a slightly quieter part of Ingye-dong. It's just a little removed from the bar street, which actually made it better!!!
Inside Janhyang: solo-drinking seats and a separate hookah room

Janhyang's stylish, romantic interior. This part is a solo-drinking-only space.

Further inside there's a separate space where you can drink solo and smoke hookah together (watch the glass). Walking in, the room was thick with hookah smoke haha. I'm sensitive to smoke so I passed on the hookah — but if you're curious or into it, recommended!

It's a music-lover's bar too, so there was fun in just listening. The lighting was perfect as well at Honsulbar Janhyang.

This is the flower my boyfriend gave me 🌼 — sold on the street at Haengridan-gil. It matched the solo-bar vibe so well I had to photograph it. Not bragging ^_____^

The lighting was exactly my style so I photographed it. From the wallpaper to the props, everything was my taste.
Lemon water, tissues, blankets and chargers at Janhyang

There's refreshing, cool lemon water, plus pocket-size tissues and wet wipes.

Tissues are an absolute must-have. There's no toilet paper in the restroom, so bring your own!

There's also a phone charger at the seat, so you can drink solo late into the night without worrying about your battery.

The classic snack served as a default side. Salty and perfect with drinks, right?

The AC was blasting and it got cold. Good thing there was a blanket — grabbed it right away haha. Maybe because it's a new bar, the blanket was clean too. Sometimes you run into bars with dirty blankets. Honsulbar Janhyang's blanket was spo-tless!

Janhyang's menu, QR ordering and the outside food rule
At Janhyang, you order through the QR code attached to your table.

The menu is unique haha — there's a 'report a villain' feature. Makes sense, since it's a bar, there are bound to be drunk patrons or other kinds of villains...
The restroom is outside (bring tissues), and you can also bring outside food, so you can eat whatever you're craving. Just no strong-smelling food ❌ — only mild-smelling food is allowed.

We chose the cocktails Janhyang and Yeoun (each ₩15,000). They're the signature cocktails and sit right at the top of the menu, so that's why we picked them. Yeoun was the one I chose, since it's strong haha — I ordered it because I suddenly felt like getting drunk that day.

While waiting for the cocktails, I even jotted down a short note in a notebook. The notebook had this office-notebook vibe that threw me off haha — like I should run straight back to work. You'll understand when you see the notebook yourself haha.
What do the signature cocktails Janhyang and Yeoun taste like?
The cocktails I'd been eagerly waiting for finally arrived. Smoke 💨 rising from my cocktail, Yeoun — so cool I photographed it right away.

Left is Yeoun, right is Janhyang. Janhyang tastes sweet, like peach — basically a peach iced tea version! Yeoun, in a word, tastes like an adult. It's strong, with a good punch, but there's a coffee note that makes it more delicious as you go, and the finish is clean and clean makes it appealing.
After the photos, I filmed a video too. The lighting, the plating — all perfect, right?

Aerial shot.. ✈️ Even snapped casually, it looks like a magazine spread. Come visit Janhyang and take a selfie too.

Apparently, once people realized we were a couple, nobody approached us haha. From start to finish at the solo-drinking bar, it was just the two of us talking.
TMI: where we went next in Ingye-dong after Janhyang
TMI🔥 After getting a little tipsy at Honsulbar Janhyang, we went for round three at another Ingye-dong bar, then hit Byeolbam in Ingye-dong, which was fun. There were way more men at Byeolbam, and if you go from Byeolbam to Arirang Club across the street, entry is free! No particular age limit either.. We went in the early morning, and both Byeolbam and Arirang were packed with people. The only downside was heavy cigarette smoke 💨.
Is Honsulbar Janhyang worth a visit?
Looking for a good-vibes new solo-drinking bar in Ingye-dong, Suwon, Gyeonggi-do? I recommend Honsulbar Janhyang — the drinks are great and you can even do hookah!
