Weekend date dakgalbi near Gangnam Station: Dakgalbijeon Gangnam

I went out for a dakgalbi date with my partner over the weekend! I love dakgalbi so much I've traveled all the way to Chuncheon for it haha. This time I didn't go far and tried one in the Gangnam area instead — it turned out way better than expected, so I wanted to share it. This is Dakgalbijeon, a place with good value that I found as a Gangnam Station restaurant pick!

Where is Dakgalbijeon Gangnam Branch? Parking and hours

Dakgalbijeon is on the 2nd floor of Gangnam Diobill, 54 Seocho-daero 73-gil, Seocho-gu, Seoul. It's conveniently located between Gangnam Station and Sinnonhyeon Station, making it an easy meeting spot too.

What I liked most was the parking! Using the building's underground lot gets you 1 hour free, which takes the pressure off if you drive there. It's open daily from 11 AM to 10 PM, so it works well for both lunch and dinner.

Going up to the 2nd floor, the restaurant was bigger than I expected, and even outside peak lunch hours there were quite a lot of customers. There's group seating too, so it seemed like a good spot for a meal with friends or a work dinner.

What's on the menu at Dakgalbijeon Gangnam Branch?

At Dakgalbijeon Gangnam Branch there were menu items with fun names like jjolim dakgalbi, perilla-leaf potato pancake, and salteolgeum nurungju. Even the menu names alone made me want to try everything, haha.

We ordered the signature gamssachidak for two. It's a set of cheese dakgalbi wrapped in potato pancake, priced at 40,000 won for two people. Rather than ordering a main and picking sides separately, being able to enjoy it all at once felt like a great value pick for a Gangnam Station meal.

Ta-da! The food finally arrived. Dakgalbi topped with cheese — the visuals alone were already on point, haha.

And the perilla-leaf potato pancake that came with it! Crispy on the outside and chewy inside, it was tasty even eaten on its own.

Then I piled well-seasoned meat on top and took a bite — whoa, what is this combination? The savory potato pancake tones down the spiciness a bit, and with the perilla aroma added, it went together way better than I expected. At first I thought it was a slightly unusual combo, but once I started eating, I couldn't stop, haha.

Why bibim makguksu is a must with dakgalbi

We also ordered bibim makguksu! You can't resist tangy-sweet makguksu (buckwheat noodles) while eating dakgalbi, right? After eating spicy-seasoned dakgalbi, one bite of bibim makguksu felt like it cleared the palate completely! The noodles were evenly coated in sauce too, so it wasn't bland at all — just the right tangy-sweet flavor.

Especially after wrapping dakgalbi in potato pancake and then adding makguksu on top, the three different flavors kept things interesting and I never got tired of eating, haha. Personally, I'd recommend ordering bibim makguksu alongside the dakgalbi rather than just having dakgalbi alone.

And no matter how full you are, you have to try the fried rice!

Honestly we were so full we weren't going to order it, but seeing the table next to us enjoying it so much, my partner and I exchanged glances and ordered it right away, haha.

What stood out about the gamssachidak set for two

The value I felt at this Gangnam Station restaurant wasn't just about the price being cheap. What I liked was being able to enjoy dakgalbi and pancake together, plus adding makguksu on top to properly round out a full meal.

It was especially satisfying visiting as a pair like we did, since we could share a bit of everything. The mood also fit well — hearty for lunch, or paired with a drink in the evening.

Worth it if you want dakgalbi near Gangnam Station

After trying it this time, I understood why Dakgalbijeon Gangnam Branch pushes gamssachidak as its signature menu, haha. Compared to just eating spicy dakgalbi on its own, wrapping it in the plain, savory potato pancake made for a genuinely fun flavor combination.

And once we finished with the makguksu at the end, the two of us were seriously stuffed! If you're looking for a hearty meal in Gangnam, or curious about a different dakgalbi combination, this cost-effective Gangnam Station restaurant is worth a stop! I fully recommend the potato pancake wrap combo, haha.
