A Gojan-dong bakery café that bakes bread fresh every morning
These days when I go to a café I'd rather have good bakery items or dessert alongside my coffee than just coffee alone, so I was excited before even visiting Flowerpot Cafe, which bakes its own bread fresh every morning. I actually found this place while searching for good desserts in Gojan-dong, and once I visited, I was glad to see the café was bigger and more open than I expected.

I visited on a weekend and it was really crowded, which tells you how popular this café is. Green plants placed here and there inside gave it a natural, cozy feel, and the great natural light made the space look even brighter and prettier during the day.

What's on the menu
Here's the Flowerpot Cafe menu. There's a wide range of drinks — coffee, lattes, fresh fruit juice, ades, smoothies, organic tea, fruit tea — plus bingsu (shaved ice dessert) sets and sandwich sets, so there was plenty to choose from.

Flowerpot Cafe, the dessert spot in Gojan-dong, has generously spaced tables inside, so it looked like a good place to visit with friends or go on a date.

On top of that, they had a wide variety of bakery items ready, so it seemed great for picking a few breads and sharing. I'd had a big lunch and wasn't thinking about dessert, but seeing them laid out, I couldn't not pick one 😋

This is a Gojan-dong café known for its bakery, with a wide variety of breads baked in-house, so I'd recommend it to anyone who likes enjoying coffee and dessert together.

How the salt bread and Matilda choco cake taste
I ordered salt bread, Matilda choco cake, an iced Americano, and a café latte. First up, the salt bread that's supposedly famous here! At a glance it looks completely ordinary, nothing special, but taking a bite it was chewy and light with a great texture, and salty enough that it paired well with coffee.

I've been craving sweet desserts a lot lately, and the Matilda choco cake I ordered along with it exceeded expectations too. It's the type with buttercream packed between the layers of chocolate cake, so it was really sweet. It was just the right amount of satisfying for those moments when you want something sweet. The rich chocolate flavor combined with the sweet buttercream paired really well with iced coffee.

Take your leftover bread home from the self-service packing station
One thing that quietly matters a lot at a bakery café is packaging, and Flowerpot Cafe has a self-service packing station, so it was convenient to pack up leftover bread myself. Since there's such a wide variety of bakery items, it seems fine to just pick whatever you feel like eating when you visit.

Good for a date or a meetup with friends?
The restroom was inside the café too, which was convenient, and overall the space was spacious and pleasant, making it a good spot to spend a relaxed weekend. If you're looking for a date spot or a café to meet friends in Gojan-dong in particular, I think this is a solid option. They're also running a Naver review event, so it might be worth joining.
