Ansan café for parents and red bean bingsu: Flowerpot Cafe
In short
Flowerpot Cafe Gojan Branch is a spacious bakery café in Gojan-dong, Ansan, Gyeonggi, beside AW Wedding Hall. We ordered red bean bingsu, two iced Americanos, and an Iced Schpanner, with the generously filled, not-too-sweet bingsu standing out. Verdict: a comfortable choice for family conversation over dessert and coffee.

I visited Flowerpot Cafe Gojan Branch while looking for a pleasant café in Ansan where I could relax comfortably with my parents.

It is located right beside AW Wedding Hall, so I imagine many people may have spotted it at least once while visiting the hall. We had seen it a few times while passing through this area too, so this time we decided to stop in ourselves.

In particular, it offers everything from bakery items and desserts to coffee, and above all, the interior is spacious with plenty of seating—perfect for visiting with parents!

A spacious, pleasant interior with varied seating
The first thing that caught my eye as soon as I entered was, of course, the spacious and pleasant setting. There were a great many seats and a variety of table styles, so whether you come in a small group or with family, you can comfortably choose a spot.

The plant-filled interior décor was done nicely throughout, so despite the large space, it did not feel too empty.
A packing station, microwave, water, syrup, blankets, and other things you might need were thoughtfully placed around the café, making it look convenient even for a longer stay.

The restroom was also inside the café, and it was spacious and kept pleasantly clean. It gave me the impression of a café that had paid attention even to details like this.

Bakery items and desserts waiting right inside
True to its bakery-café name, a wide range of items was displayed by category in the middle of the café.

There was such a variety, from breads and cakes to sandwiches, that it was easy to pick something simple to have with coffee.

Menu information and photos were clearly displayed from the entrance onward, so I was already agonizing over what to eat as I walked in.

Milk red bean bingsu loaded with red beans
The menu item I liked most on this visit was definitely the red bean bingsu.

We like red bean bingsu (shaved ice with sweet red beans) enough to seek it out and pay for it ourselves near home often, and Flowerpot Cafe Gojan Branch's version was satisfying too.
First of all, it was really generous with the red beans. Their nutty, gently sweet flavor came together nicely, and best of all, the sweet red bean paste was not overly sweet.
Several chewy injeolmi (roasted soybean powder rice cake) pieces were placed on top too, and they added another nice texture with the shaved ice.
Nutty, full-bodied iced Americano
We also ordered the iced Americano that you simply cannot leave out at a café. Look at all that crema sitting on top! It tasted nutty and full-bodied, making it a good match for the bingsu.

It was a clean Americano that was nice and refreshing, and the coffee balanced the sweetness of the red bean bingsu, so the combination worked well.
An Iced Schpanner with an appealing hazelnut aroma
The Iced Schpanner I ordered because I wanted a slightly different coffee was impressive too.

The coffee at the bottom was strong and slightly bitter, while a generous layer of cream sat on top. Thanks especially to the hazelnut powder sprinkled over it, that nutty hazelnut aroma came through strongly from the very first sip.

The strong coffee came together with the sweet, smooth cream, creating a clear contrast in flavor.
Thoughtful conveniences, from coffee grounds to the packing station
Another thing I liked about Flowerpot Cafe Gojan Branch was how well it had prepared what customers need for a convenient visit.

On one side, used coffee grounds were set out for customers to take for free, and there was also a packing station and microwave for self-packing.
A good Ansan café to visit with family
Flowerpot Cafe Gojan Branch, which I visited with my parents this time, had a spacious, pleasant setting along with a variety of bakery items and desserts,

as well as coffee options, making it a nice café to visit with family. If you are looking in Ansan for a spacious café where you can sit comfortably and chat with your parents, or for a good dessert spot in Gojan-dong, do make a visit at least once!
