Suwon brunch restaurant with QR ordering and ₩600 parking: Nonchalant

In short

Nonchalant Lounge is a Western-style restaurant in Haenggung-dong near Suwon Hwaseong, Gyeonggi, serving brunch by day and turning into a wine bar mood at night. Two people ordered the chuck flap steak platter at 37,000 won, bisque rosé pasta at 19,000 won and a grapefruit ade at 6,000 won, for a total of 62,000 won, and parked at a nearby public lot for about 600 won for 90 minutes instead of using the restaurant's own lot. For a Suwon Hwaseong date where atmosphere matters as much as the food, Nonchalant Lounge was an easy, reliable choice.

The weather's been so nice lately that a lot of people seem to be heading to Suwon Hwaseong or Haenggung-dong for dates haha. I went on a little outing to Haenggung-dong myself and wanted somewhere with good atmosphere to have a relaxed meal, so I visited Nonchalant Lounge. It's great for a Haenggung-dong brunch during the day, and a nice spot for drinks or wine with some mood in the evening, so it worked well as a date course. Since it's close to Suwon Hwaseong, it's also good for a walk around the area after eating :)

Visiting Nonchalant Lounge in Haenggung-dong, Suwon

Where to park at Nonchalant Lounge? Public lot, ₩600 for 90 minutes

Rather than using the restaurant's own parking lot, you're meant to use the surrounding public parking lot. We were told that on weekday visits you can get a 2-hour free parking voucher for the nearby public lot.

If you're driving to Haenggung-dong, keep this in mind! We visited as part of a Superchart sponsored campaign though, so we were excluded from the free parking voucher. So we just paid for parking ourselves. We used the lot for about 90 minutes and it came to around ₩600. Cheaper than I expected, so not getting the free voucher wasn't a big deal haha.

Recent reviews we could find also mention using the nearby public lot and getting parking support on weekdays. That said, the details and timing of the support may vary depending on when you visit, so it's worth double-checking with the restaurant.

📍 896 Jeongjo-ro, Paldal-gu, Suwon-si, Gyeonggi-do, South Floor (1F). Nonchalant Lounge is located in Haenggung-dong, near Suwon Hwaseong. Even the exterior has a slightly European feel compared to a typical Western restaurant, so it caught my eye before I even went in. Once inside, the space is bigger than you'd expect.

Interior with wood-tone furniture and soft lighting

Haenggung-dong has a lot of small, cute little restaurants, but this place doesn't feel cramped between tables and has an overall relaxed feel. With soft lighting and wood-tone furniture and decor blending together, it felt like a nice, moody Haenggung-dong brunch spot during the day, and I imagine it'd be great as a Haenggung-dong wine bar in the evening when the lighting really stands out. Recent reviews also mention LP music, lighting, and a variety of seating as features. It seemed good for a date, but also fine for a relaxed meal and chat with friends haha.

₩62,000 for two: the three dishes ordered at Nonchalant Lounge

We ordered three items total that day!

  • Chuck flap steak platter ₩37,000
  • Bisque rosé pasta ₩19,000
  • Grapefruit ade ₩6,000

That came to ₩62,000 total. With two main dishes and one drink split between two people, it was just the right amount for a brunch-meets-meal.

Table setting with steak and pasta ordered for two

Chuck flap steak platter, ₩37,000

First out was the dish I was most excited about — the chuck flap steak platter! Price was ₩37,000. It comes with a generously grilled chuck flap steak and grilled vegetables on the side, and the plating alone looked pretty appetizing.

Chuck flap steak platter with grilled vegetables

Maybe because it's chuck flap, the texture wasn't tough and had a savory, meaty flavor when I chewed it. Pairing it with the grilled vegetables in between bites worked really well, rather than just eating meat the whole time.

Ordering just one steak and sharing it alongside the pasta made for a good combination. The current menu description also lists the platter as coming with chuck flap steak, grilled vegetables, and Maldon salt.

Bisque rosé pasta topped with shrimp

Bisque rosé pasta, ₩19,000

Personally, the dish that stuck with me more that day was the bisque rosé pasta. Priced at ₩19,000! Compared to a regular rosé pasta, it had more of that seafood umami flavor, so the sauce tasted a bit richer. There's shrimp in it too, which added a springy texture when eaten with the noodles, and honestly, taking a bite of rosé pasta in between the steak was such a good combo lol. If you like rich, umami-heavy pasta rather than a light tomato pasta, this menu item might be for you. The menu description also introduces it as a seafood-based bisque rosé pasta with shrimp and tomato added.

Grapefruit ade, ₩6,000

Eating meat and pasta made us crave something refreshing in between, so we also ordered a grapefruit ade. Price was ₩6,000! With its fizzy carbonation and that distinct tangy-bitter grapefruit flavor, it went well alongside the steak and rosé pasta. Since both main dishes were pretty rich overall, taking a sip of the grapefruit ade in between cleaned the palate nicely haha.

Nonchalant Lounge as a Haenggung-dong wine bar at night

I liked that Nonchalant Lounge isn't just a brunch-or-meal-only place — you can also enjoy wine or other drinks in the evening. Visiting during the day is good for a bright, date-friendly brunch, and in the evening, the soft lighting definitely leans more into that Haenggung-dong wine bar feel. They actually do have a range of wine and other alcohol on the menu, and recent reviews mention that in the evening, the vibe leans more toward a lounge or wine bar. Could be a good plan to sightsee at Suwon Hwaseong, then have dinner and a glass of wine here!

Is Nonchalant Lounge worth a stop on a Suwon Hwaseong date?

Overall, this felt like a place to enjoy the atmosphere along with the food, rather than eat and leave right away. The chuck flap steak platter and bisque rosé pasta combo was solid, and above all, the restaurant's atmosphere matched that particular Haenggung-dong feel really well. Since you can enjoy it as a Haenggung-dong brunch spot during the day and a Haenggung-dong wine bar in the evening, the vibe should feel pretty different depending on the time you go. If you're looking for somewhere to have pasta or steak while on a Suwon Hwaseong date, it might be worth stopping by :) If you're searching for good restaurants near Suwon Hwaseong that also care about atmosphere, keep Nonchalant Lounge in mind!
