I visited a place called Mellows. It is famous as a holy ground for ice cream, you know. As an ice-cream lover, I was soooo excited for this place.

Mellows was easy to get to, located close to Ttukseom Station.

Mellows coffee and soft-serve menu

Mellows coffee and soft-serve ice cream menu

Here is the menu. This place serves coffee and soft-serve ice cream. Looking at the coffee first, it comes hot or iced: an Americano is ₩2,500, a caffè latte is ₩3,200, and a vanilla latte is ₩3,500; decaf is an extra ₩300. For non-coffee drinks, they had chocolate latte and matcha latte, too. At ₩3,500 each, the prices felt reasonable.

And now for the soft serve, which would not be an exaggeration to call this place's main event. Hearing that it uses Sangha Farm ice cream as its base made me even more excited. It has that luuuxury handmade-ice-cream kind of feel, you know? Milk ice cream was ₩3,500; affogato ice cream was ₩4,000; and matcha, chocolate, and peanut butter ice cream were also ₩4,000 each. Those were the basic flavors.

For fruit ice creams, there were peach, mango, and strawberry, at ₩4,500 each. I thought they were great value. In these high-price times, they felt like sensible, reasonable prices.

The atmosphere inside Mellows

Inside Mellows, with music playing

Good mood music was playing through a Marshall speaker. I could spot a bottle of 12-year Balvenie, too.

Store display with ingredient brand products

The little displays were memorable. Rather than decorations, I think they were showing the ingredients used here, something like that. There were lots of brand products on display.

What makes each soft serve special

Information on the features of Only Milk soft-serve ice cream

They had displays explaining the highlights of each ice cream. The Only Milk soft serve lets the natural rich flavor of milk and its smooth texture fill your mouth—and lifts your mood in that instant!

Affogato soft-serve ice cream topped with espresso

For the affogato, intense espresso slowly melts over soft milk ice cream: apparently the perfect pairing of pleasantly bitter and sweet. How could anyone resist that? This is impossible to resist~

Jeju matcha soft-serve ice cream with matcha syrup

The Jeju matcha soft serve was a next-level visual, too. That overflowing matcha syrup... As a matcha fanatic, it was a very hard look to resist.

What I ordered, from strawberry to peanut butter

Strawberry, peach, mango, matcha, and peanut butter ice cream

I ordered one each of strawberry, peach, mango, matcha, and peanut butter. Every one had loads of personality, and the visuals were absolutely excellent.

Soft serve topped with matcha syrup and crumble

Look at that luminous matcha. Overflowing matcha syrup, crumble for texture maybe? And soft serve made with Sangha Farm's luuuxury milk—absolutely perfect, period.

Peanut butter soft-serve ice cream

The peanut butter could be called another masterpiece. The peanut butter was salty and nutty, then the sweetness of Sangha Farm soft serve joined in—such a proper sweet-and-salty combination. This is a totally amazing pairing.

Soft serve with large chunks of mango

And what about the mango? It was packed with mango flesh. It had really big, generous chunks of mango—like a cup of fruit with soft serve added in. That was the feeling of this menu item.

Soft serve with pink peach purée

This time, peach. The peach had next-level visuals, too. It was loaded with a pale pink peach purée? that brought to mind white peaches with lots of juice. It even carried that fresh peach fragrance! Peach flavor—I highly recommend it.

Soft serve with fresh strawberries and strawberry syrup

As for strawberry, what more is there to say? Look at those fresh strawberries. Along with the overflowing strawberry syrup, it had the kind of visual that could not possibly taste bad. This one is a video.

The peanut butter and matcha flavors were decorated with long cookies—were they called Polly Polly?—which made them look even more appetizing.

Mellows gave me the feeling that it will establish itself as a hot spot in Ttukseom. Like it will become a destination. Get in while it is still early! For after-meal dessert near Ttukseom Station, I think this is the place: Mellows.
