Korean BBQ near Olympic Park ending in haejang sulbap: Dangsan Odol

We swung by Olympic Park for a walk, then headed to dinner at Dangsan Odol Bangi Branch, a Korean BBQ restaurant near Bangi Station.

This place has been known for great meat quality for a while, so I'd been curious about it, and I finally made it here this time.

Where is Dangsan Odol Bangi Branch, and is there parking?

Dangsan Odol Bangi Branch is a charcoal BBQ restaurant on Yangjaedae-ro 71-gil in Songpa, Seoul. If you're looking for a Korean restaurant near Bangi Station and picturing a BBQ spot, this is exactly the kind of exterior that comes to mind.

There's a parking space set up right in front of the restaurant too, so it was convenient if you're driving.

You can already tell it's a solid restaurant from the entrance, right? Right after work or on weekend evenings it gets busy with customers, so I'd recommend going a bit early.

Inside Dangsan Odol Bangi Branch and its reservation-only group room

Stepping inside Dangsan Odol Bangi Branch, the interior was quite spacious and clean, with generous spacing between tables, so it was comfortable to eat without feeling cramped.

There's also a neat group room available if you book ahead!

If you're looking for a spot for a work dinner or gathering in Bangi-dong, booking ahead here would make for a nice, private time.

What we ordered and what's on the self-serve side dish bar

We sat down and read through the menu carefully haha. We ordered the restaurant's famous signature items, snowflake galbi and silk-mango pork neck.

After ordering, they set out the basic side dishes neatly, and there were plenty that paired well with the meat, so I liked it from the banchan (side dishes) alone.

If you want more of anything, you can just help yourself at the self-serve bar as much as you like :)

The silk-mango pork neck and the snowflake galbi we ordered — a beef menu near Olympic Park — arrived! The color alone stood out, so my expectations shot up even before it hit the grill lol.

Slushy ice soju at Dangsan Odol

Oh, and one more great thing — the soju here is ice soju! ❄️ It's made with a refreshing layer of ice slush floating in it, and drinking it with the meat cut through the greasiness so well lol.

How does the snowflake galbi taste?

They grilled the snowflake galbi on the grill for us first, with real care 🔥. As the faint charcoal aroma soaked in and the juices rose up, it looked absolutely amazing.

Taking a bite of the well-cooked snowflake galbi, I could really taste that signature savory beef flavor and soft texture. True to being beef near Olympic Park, the quality was really satisfying.

Silk-mango pork neck: why it's the must-order cut

But honestly, this silk-mango pork neck is truly the best thing at Dangsan Odol Bangi Branch!! 👍 It's scored thickly like a mango, so it cooks through moist all the way to the center, and the juices really burst out.

It's pork neck, but there's zero dryness — it seems to get its name from being as soft as silk, and honestly, you just have to agree once you taste it 🥺 If you come to this Korean BBQ restaurant near Bangi Station, you absolutely have to order the silk-mango pork neck!

Finishing the meal with haejang sulbap

As we were finishing up the meat, we also ordered haejang sulbap (soju-hangover rice soup) as a dessert-slash-drinking snack. It was a bit bland, but it was spicy and refreshing, making it a perfect way to wrap things up after the meat.

With delicious meat plus cool ice soju, we got to finish the meal in a great mood.

From the meat quality to the atmosphere to the group room service, everything was on point at Dangsan Odol Bangi Branch, a Korean restaurant near Bangi Station! I'd definitely recommend it to anyone visiting Olympic Park and looking for a great BBQ spot, or anyone searching for a place for a gathering :)
