Jeonpo pizza restaurant with cheese crust and chicken steak: Pickles

Pickles is the Jeonpo pizza restaurant I've visited more than even Lee Jaemo Pizza in Seomyeon. Every visit is so satisfying that I keep going back, and back, and back ❤︎

Where is Pickles in Jeonpo, and what are the hours and parking?

Pickles is on the 1st floor of 62-14 Seojeon-ro 46beon-gil, Busanjin-gu, Busan, and it's open 11:00 - 21:00. You can reserve through Catch Table, order takeout, or book for groups, but there's no on-site parking, so you'll need a paid lot.

Pickles sits close to Jeonpo Station. I've already been back n number of times, so as a Seomyeon local I can vouch for it!

Is there a wait at Pickles on a weekday lunch?

You can basically assume there's always a wait at Pickles, but the menu is good enough that the wait doesn't feel wasted at all ~ ~ ~!

There's a Catch Table sign-in and a waiting area right outside the store.

At this Jeonpo-dong favorite, the staff always greets you kindly, so the whole space feels good from the moment you walk in. We came for weekday lunch, so we luckily got in without any wait.

Even at weekday lunch there were plenty of customers... and the pickles at the self-serve bar are seriously, seriously, seriously uniquely delicious! If you go to Pickles, a pickle refill is a must ~ ~

The inside of Pickles has a hip feel without being chaotic, so even my husband, who isn't into cramped, trendy spots, ended up liking it.

Once we sat down, they brought us cutlery and pickles. Salt and hot sauce are set on every table, and I'll share a salt tip too!

If you come to Pickles, the half-and-half pizza is a must-try... Honestly I want to try every pizza on the menu, but getting two flavors at once is a win, isn't it? >.< And this is the n-th time I've had the chicken steak — the tangy cabbage pickle and roasted potatoes are so, so good ~ ~

Jambon-beurre and taco half-and-half pizza with cheese crust

JAMBONBEURRE (jambon-beurre pizza) — pizza topped with jambon, butter's richness, and fresh arugula. I always order the jambon-beurre pizza whenever I go to Pickles. If you can't quite imagine jambon-beurre and pizza together, just order it anyway — it's seriously delicious. My friend tried it for the first time, and even though she's not great with rich, heavy food, she loved it >.<

TACO (taco pizza) — a pizza topped with the American soul food, tacos. It's a real taco pizza with nachos, sour cream, corn, jalapeños and onion on top. Right when the jambon-beurre pizza starts feeling a bit rich, this fresh taco pizza hits the spot perfectly.

Chicken steak, 9,000 won: the hidden menu item at Pickles

CHICKENSTEAK (chicken steak) — rustic-looking but tender, a memory of New York's Harlem, in a harmony of chicken, coleslaw and potato. This feels like Pickles' hidden menu item (?), buried under the salads and pastas — kind of a shame. The chicken steak is genuinely juicy and well-seasoned, and the sweet-tangy cabbage slaw with roasted potatoes is really, really good, so make sure to try it!!

Is Pickles worth a visit? Final verdict

The two of us ate until we were completely full, and my friend took the last leftover slice home 😉 The chefs and staff were all kind, and the taste, value and atmosphere were all very satisfying. As a Seomyeon local, I fully recommend Pickles as a pizza and pasta restaurant in Seomyeon's Jeonpo-dong ˗ˋ꒰♥꒱ˊ˗
