Inside BYWAY BAKERS Yeongdeungpo Branch: interior and seating

This café near Yeongdeungpogu Office Station has a wood-toned interior, so the atmosphere felt comfortable — good for reading or getting work done. There's a large communal table, and even sitting next to strangers didn't feel cramped or awkwardly close because the table is so big.
As you walk in, the right side has more tables for groups of four or more, while the left side has smaller tables for one to four people. Maybe that's why so many guests on the left side were sitting alone studying, drawing, or reading. If you sit for a long time you'll want water at some point — there's a water station set up for that too.
Can you book a meeting room at BYWAY BAKERS?

Since it's a café with lots of foot traffic, it can feel a bit loud for a proper conversation with a group — but this café near Yeongdeungpogu Office Station has a separate 'reservable meeting room' for a private gathering space.
Meeting room rules and hourly price
It's a reservation-based space, and you book by asking at the counter. It requires one drink per person, and for groups of four or more, the first hour is free, with each hour after that costing ₩10,000. Keep that in mind if you're interested.
Drink menu at BYWAY BAKERS Yeongdeungpo Branch

The drink menu at this café near Yeongdeungpogu Office Station ranges from espresso to cream latte, cold brew, tea, ade, and juice — plenty of options even for people who can't drink coffee.

And true to being a bakery café, there was a huge variety of baked goods.
What bread does BYWAY BAKERS Yeongdeungpo Branch sell?

Egg tarts, financiers, bagels, baguettes, focaccia — the variety was really impressive. There was also butter tteok (rice cake), du-jjon-cookies, and Dubai chocolate salt bread. By the time I visited, all of those were already sold out. If you want to try them, I'd recommend visiting in the morning!

They also had the trendy wakppu (crumble-open) salt bread. There were three flavors: fig batchike, fresh blueberry yogurt, and peach yogurt.

I always have to try whatever's marked 'New,' so I picked the peach yogurt wakppu salt bread.
What we ordered at BYWAY BAKERS

First, we ordered two drinks to go with the bread. Two iced Americanos — mine decaf, which cost an extra ₩500.
How was the peach yogurt wakppu salt bread?

I've never actually bought a wakppu ball before — I've only seen them on Instagram reels. So the first instinct was: I have to smash this open. My husband, who has zero interest in this trend, asked why it's called wakppu (wax-sprinkled) salt bread — is there wax sprinkled on top of the bread? Haha.
Anyway, I smashed it open to eat it. I get it now, a little, why people find it stress-relieving to crack open and handle these wakppu balls — that first cracking feeling was satisfying! After smashing it, I peeled off the wrap covering it and cut it in half.

True to its name, the inside was packed with yogurt and fresh peach. Having actual fresh peach made it even better. Some cafés use peaches preserved in sugar to make them sweeter, but the peach inside this peach yogurt wakppu salt bread at this café near Yeongdeungpogu Office Station was genuinely fresh peach! Since the yogurt does the job of the cream, it wasn't overly sweet, and both the texture and flavor were great. Even my husband, who doesn't like sweets, said it was good paired with coffee.
Olive focaccia at BYWAY BAKERS: taste review

The olive focaccia at this café near Yeongdeungpogu Office Station was my husband's pick. Whenever we're at a bakery café, he always goes for this kind of plain, savory bread. (I'm always Team Sweet, so we don't quite match on this.) So I usually just take one bite — but this olive focaccia was actually really good.

The crust was crisp on the outside and chewy inside, and it was light enough to enjoy as a dessert without feeling heavy. If you're looking for a plain bread to pair with coffee, I'd recommend the olive focaccia at this café near Yeongdeungpogu Office Station.
Is BYWAY BAKERS Yeongdeungpo Branch worth a visit?
This café near Yeongdeungpogu Office Station, good whether you're solo or with a group, is a bakery café that bakes its own bread — the kind of place where you can enjoy good bread while studying or reading alone. That said, since it's a popular spot, it does get busy with some noise, so if you like studying in a place with a bit of ambient buzz, this café will suit you well!
