Dokdo shrimp butter grill and snow crab set for two: Gallilli Daegae
In short
Gallilli Daegae Hoe Sikdang is a snow crab and live fish sashimi restaurant in Jukdo Market, Pohang. The ₩200,000 Gallilli set for two came with bakdal snow crab, Dokdo shrimp, live sashimi of sea bass, red snorkel bream, and flounder, plus mulhoe, hoe-muchim, and clam soup, and the buttery roe from the grilled Dokdo shrimp heads was the standout. Portions were so generous that they swapped the spicy stew for seafood ramen and still packed leftover sashimi to go — a solid pick for a sashimi restaurant in Jukdo Market.

Today I'm sharing my review of the Gallilli set at Gallilli Daegae Hoe Sikdang, a well-known spot in Jukdo Market, Pohang.

A Jukdo Market sashimi restaurant with tanks as clean as the food
Even the tanks outside are spotless, and they're packed with seafood! Snow crab, live fish for sashimi, Dokdo shrimp — I ate it all haha

The Gallilli set for two: what's in it and the price
Here's a photo of the menu! We ordered the Gallilli set at ₩200,000 (for 2): bakdal snow crab + shrimp sashimi + seafood + mulhoe (cold raw fish soup) + live sashimi + spicy stew!

Don't skip the Naver reservation and review perks
Leave a Naver review and you get a free drink and parking service — I'd definitely recommend writing one. And if you book through Naver, you get ₩5,000/₩10,000 off or free seafood ramen, so booking through Naver is basically mandatory lol

We ordered a bottle of Cham soju, the regional brand from Gyeongbuk. My boyfriend went to university in Daegu and said he drank a lot of this back then lol

From abalone porridge to mulhoe, hoe-muchim, and clam soup
We started with abalone porridge~
Then a wave of side dishes suddenly showed up — there were so many different ones that we were busy just eating through them all.

Mulhoe — sweet, tangy, and refreshingly cold; we mixed this one up first.
Seafood — fresh seafood with mushrooms? I love mushrooms so much that this tasted amazing to me haha

Hoe-muchim (spicy mixed raw fish) — raw fish mixed with radish and seaweed flakes! The sauce drizzled on top was so good I wanted to just pour it over rice and eat it as hoedeopbap lol

Clam soup — and of course you need a broth! A refreshing clam soup on top of everything. Can I even call this a side dish lol — the table was already this loaded before the main dishes even arrived!

Dokdo shrimp and the butter-grilled heads
Dokdo shrimp — oh man,,,! The Dokdo shrimp arrives! This is what I came here for,,,,haha

These fresh Dokdo shrimp were insane, so sweet and delicious. They were so fresh that they were still wriggling while we ate them!

They grill the heads in butter for you, and you absolutely have to eat this — the roe inside the heads is packed with savory richness. Genuinely one of the best things I've ever eaten.

Live sashimi: sea bass, red snorkel bream, and flounder
Live sashimi — I wanted both the Dokdo shrimp and the live sashimi, so the Gallilli set was the perfect order!

Three kinds of fish — sea bass, red snorkel bream, and flounder — lightly seared on the outside like tataki. Also delicious!

And so we kept properly enjoying this ridiculously generous meal.
The final boss: bakdal snow crab
Bakdal snow crab — the final boss arrives! Apparently 'bakdal' snow crab means crab with a high meat yield.
It came fully cleaned, so all we had to do was snap it apart and the meat just came right out — so easy to eat.
True to being bakdal crab, it was packed full of meat,,, pure happiness.
Can you see the meat popping right out when you crack the claw open? Eating that in one bite is basically happiness itself!

The body was also split in half already, so it was super easy to pick out the meat.
No room for fried rice — swapped the spicy stew for seafood ramen
They make fried rice with the crab's tomalley/roe, but we were already full so we had to skip it,,,
Crab gratin — I didn't get a photo, but there was even sweet potato tempura on top,,,! We were so full at that point lol
Seafood ramen — we figured there was no way we could finish a full spicy stew at the end, so we asked for seafood ramen instead! Though honestly we couldn't finish much of that either,,,
We packed up the leftover sashimi to take home, and they even gave us chojang (vinegar chili sauce) and an ice pack — so thoughtful, thank you so much haha
Final thoughts
That's my review of Gallilli Daegae Hoe Sikdang, a well-known restaurant in Jukdo Market, Pohang! As famous as it is in Jukdo Market, the portions were genuinely massive! And it wasn't just about quantity — the range of dishes was great and everything was so fresh haha If you're looking for a sashimi restaurant in Jukdo Market, Pohang, I'd recommend this place!
