Group crab meal at Jukdo Market with parking support: Gallilli Daegae
In short
Gallilli Daegae Hoe Sikdang is a snow crab and raw fish restaurant on the main street of Jukdo Market in Pohang. After parking at Jukdo Market's 3rd public lot and getting one hour of parking support, we picked a bakdal daegae (fully-molted snow crab) from the tank and worked through abalone and conch banchan, crab shell fried rice, and spicy stew. The seating is spacious enough for family dinners or group get-togethers, and this place delivers on what you pay for a crab meal without the meat-yield worries.

We used Jukdo Market's 3rd public parking lot (4-11 Haedong-ro 167beon-gil, Buk-gu, Pohang), which is closest to the restaurant. The public lot rate is around ₩1,200 an hour, so it's easy to eat and still have plenty of time to browse the market afterward.

Inside the restaurant & the tank
The interior has very spacious, comfortable seating, making it a great spot for group gatherings or company dinners too.

This place has a well-put-together set that lets you enjoy a full course of snow crab, assorted raw fish, seafood, spicy stew, and ramyeon.

The tank out front was packed with fresh, live snow crab. The key to a good seafood restaurant is fast turnover, and just looking at the tank you could tell this place never runs short of customers. We picked out a bakdal daegae, a crab that had finished its final molt and was packed with meat.
What is bakdal daegae?
Bakdal daegae isn't a separate species — it's the term for a snow crab that has finished its final molt and has flesh packed all the way through. The name comes from the idea that the meat is as dense and full as the wood of the bakdal (birch) tree.

A generous spread of sseukdashi
While the crab was being steamed, a generous spread of side dishes came out first.
- A fresh seafood assortment of abalone, conch, and more
- Refreshing mussel and clam soup, perfect for cleansing the palate
- Rice-thief soy-marinated crab (ganjang gejang) and sweet-and-sour hoe-muchim (mixed raw fish)
- Sizzling, savory corn cheese and toast
Every single banchan (side dish) was so good my chopsticks never stopped moving, and the wait for the crab flew by without a moment of boredom.

The corn cheese also came out bubbling hot and delicious.

Bakdal daegae with a full meat yield
While we were still working through the sseukdashi, the perfectly steamed bakdal daegae arrived. True to its name, the meat yield was incredible. Every single leg was packed solid with pale, glistening meat. One big bite and the crab's faint sweetness and soft, savory flavor spread richly through my mouth.

Can you see all this crab meat? This is the bakdal daegae at Gallilli Daegae Hoe Sikdang, and it truly delivers what you pay for. Don't settle for regular snow crab and end up disappointed with empty legs — I strongly recommend going for bakdal daegae.

Even the body section, which usually has little meat, was so packed that picking it out gently filled an entire plate. I was really glad I chose a proper bakdal daegae instead of risking disappointment with a lesser crab.

Finishing with crab shell fried rice & spicy stew
After polishing off the crab, of course you have to finish with crab rice and spicy stew, right? They bring out the spicy stew bubbling hot.

Crab shell rice fried with a generous amount of savory sesame oil and seaweed flakes, paired with the spicy stew broth, made for the perfect finish.
Final thoughts
Among the countless raw fish restaurants at Jukdo Market, this is one you can trust without worrying about meat yield. Fast turnover means the seafood is exceptionally fresh, and the sseukdashi spread — from abalone and conch to corn cheese — is filled with dishes you'll actually want to eat.
In particular, the deep savory flavor of the meat-packed bakdal daegae, followed by the spicy stew and the savory crab shell rice, is real proof you're getting your money's worth. With parking support and spacious seating, this is a Pohang crab restaurant that's perfect for bringing your parents, a family meal, or a group gathering.
