I was hunting for a good dessert spot near Suwon Station when I found this ridiculously hip cafe, Hongrad Suwon Station Branch ෆ At first glance from the outside I was like, 'Wait... is there really a cafe here...?' But you really can't judge a cafe by its exterior, haha!

The moment I climbed the stairs to the 2nd floor and opened the door!! A completely different space unfolded from what I saw outside. Vintage yet distinctive props blended with stylish interior touches, and the hip mood radiated from every corner ✨ The slightly dim, cozy lighting made the atmosphere even more charming.

It had a distinctly Hongrad mood you just can't get at a common franchise cafe, so it's perfect not just for a Suwon Station date but also for taking photos and chatting with friends. Every table and chair had a slightly different shape and feel, so where you sit changes the whole vibe! There was also fun in exploring every corner of the cafe. A total plot twist I never imagined from outside — who knew such a hip, soulful cafe was hiding near Suwon Station? It felt like discovering my own secret hideout 🖤

Since the chairs and furniture design differed at each table, there was fun in picking a seat too — from spots good for groups to cozy corners for couples. The lighting was atmospheric enough that any random shot came out looking aesthetic.

Here's why Hongrad felt even more special! There's a little prop-selling corner tucked in one side of the cafe. Getting to browse cute, characterful props was a total bonus fun >.<

From vintage-feel items to cute little pieces, everything was displayed so nicely that browsing item by item was genuinely fun. The cafe's overall atmosphere and the prop shop blended so naturally it felt like stepping into a small curated boutique. Great for browsing while waiting for your drinks and dessert, and if something catches your eye, your wallet might just fly open, haha.

Free Wi-Fi is provided, and the restroom is through the black door next to the kitchen. There's a charging space and a self bar near the restroom too.

Hongrad Suwon Station Branch has no dedicated parking lot, so you'll need to use a nearby lot. I parked at the Gyeonggi Provincial Office Old Building public parking lot, about 560m from the cafe, which was free on both weekdays and weekends, and it took about 10 minutes to walk to the cafe! The walk itself felt like a nice little stroll, which actually made for a good date course. Free parking also meant I could enjoy the cafe without worrying about parking fees — pretty great ✨

Hongrad's menu was really extensive, from coffee to non-coffee drinks to teas to desserts! Besides Americano and cafe latte, there were distinctive drinks like coconut latte and summer latte, plus the signature bear Einspänner and bear matcha einspänner topped with an adorable bear face. Desserts ranged from kaya toast, Nutella toast, ex-boyfriend toast, and Hongrad toast to brownies and croffles. Photos were attached next to each dessert, which made choosing easy since you could see exactly what you'd get. You can also add ice cream to your dessert for extra sweetness.

The main reason I came back to Hongrad! It's the toast with the striking name — ex-boyfriend toast. On crisply toasted bread, there's a generous layer of soft, thick cream cheese and sweet blueberry jam, plus a scoop of ice cream on top, so the visual alone is a sugar explosion💜 This thing is seriously addictive.

Piling cold ice cream onto warm, crispy toast makes for a super appealing temperature contrast. The rich, savory cream cheese and the tangy-sweet blueberry jam pair so well that I couldn't stop reaching for more. It's not just sweet — the cream cheese softens the flavor, and honestly this combo is insane!

Crisp outside, moist inside, so one bite fills your mouth with sweetness. You might forget your ex-boyfriend, but not this taste — that's why I came back, haha. A friend trying it for the first time had her eyes go wide after one bite and said, 'Wow, this is insanely good!' — completely won over. Ta-da, the eye-catching matcha einspanner haha. On top of the bear matcha einspänner there's a thick layer of white cream with a bear face drawn on in chocolate. The round, gentle expression was so cute I had to take photos before drinking it — a look precisely engineered to win girls' hearts :)

The bitter, rich matcha blended with the soft, sweet cream so nicely that it softened matcha's characteristic bitterness! At first I sipped without mixing, tasting the cream and matcha separately, then stirred them together for an even smoother, sweeter drink.

Iced milk tea, 6,000 won

I'd been drinking way too much coffee, and since it was evening, I ordered an iced milk tea instead. The moment I took a sip, a fragrant black tea aroma spread through my mouth, and the smooth, sweet flavor was really nice.

It wasn't just sweet — the subtle tea aroma and gentle sweetness came together in a way that made it easy to drink without feeling too heavy! It went down cool and clean, making it a perfect match with the thick, sweet ex-boyfriend toast. One bite of toast, one sip of milk tea, and you get a proper sugar recharge, hehe.
