Seongsu dessert café Childish: 3-flavor salted taiyaki set, bingsu
In short
Childish is a salted bread and salted taiyaki dessert café in an alley off Yeonmujang-gil in Seongsu, Seoul. Two friends ordered the salted taiyaki (붕어빵, fish-shaped pastry) set of three — red bean butter, pizza and chewy mammoth — plus mango bingsu, a jambon-beurre salted bread sandwich and a buljangnan cream coffee; the taiyaki arrived freshly baked, crisp outside and soft inside, and the mango bingsu was packed with fresh mango, easily enough for four. For one last bowl of bingsu before summer ends, Childish is worth the trip, and it will likely get even busier once taiyaki season arrives in winter.

Went on a little Seongsu outing with Minji after a while. I already love salted bread, and this place does salted bread + taiyaki, so I went in with high expectations — this is Seongsu café Childish. Tasty thing + tasty thing = can't go wrong, right? ⋆ ˚。⋆୨୧⋆。˚ ⋆ Anyway, today's menu: taiyaki 3-set plus mango bingsu at this Seongsu taiyaki spot.
Where is Childish in Seongsu, and how do you get there?

Childish is on the 2nd floor at 114 Yeonmujang-gil, right in the alley of Seongsu's hotspot area, so it's also a great Seongsu date course ✨

Even just looking at the poster, the colors are insane.
Is there a wait at Childish?
Since it's a Seongsu café, there could be a wait, but they've got separate waiting seats set up, so no worries!
What Childish looks like inside

Childish has a cute-style interior, so there were quite a few parents with kids too! Different tables and chairs across the space, some trendy, some comfy — I liked that.
Childish menu and what we ordered

For the drink menu, check the photo!

If you come to Childish, this mango bingsu and

the taiyaki are a must! Think of it as their signature menu. There are three kinds — mammoth, red bean butter, pizza! All three have different charms, so I'd recommend just trying all three.

Besides the salted taiyaki, they also had plain salted bread and salted bread sandwiches — jambon-beurre, red bean butter, egg mayo. What I picked at this Seongsu dessert spot: the taiyaki 3-set (pizza, red bean butter, mammoth chewy), mango bingsu, and buljangnan cream coffee!
Honest review: the red bean butter salted taiyaki
We ordered way too much, so this came out first haha;

The red bean butter salted taiyaki! Fresh out of the oven, crisp outside and soft inside, insane. Packed full of red bean inside, and since the taiyaki was hot, the butter melted right in — it paired perfectly with iced Americano. The red bean was sweet but the shell was salted bread dough, so it was slightly salty, and that sweet-salty combo was so good.

You can just tell it's packed with red bean, right? A flavor parents would love too!
Buljangnan cream coffee at Childish

This is the buljangnan cream coffee! Drinking it as a standalone coffee, the marshmallow and coffee combo was nice, but since the taiyaki is sweet-salty, next time I'd probably go with iced Americano instead. I stole a sip of my friend's iced Americano and it was good haha.
Jambon-beurre salted bread sandwich

This is the jambon-beurre sandwich! I already love jambon-beurre so I ordered it, and it was genuinely delicious. There's basil inside too, which could be a hit or miss for some, but even I, who's not a basil fan, thought it was great, so it should be fine.
Pizza taiyaki and chewy mammoth taiyaki

As we kept eating, the pizza taiyaki and mammoth taiyaki came out in between.

No need to explain the pizza taiyaki — it's like real sweet potato mousse pizza compressed into one bite. Just think sweet potato pizza, with that crisp-outside-soft-inside texture. This place is going to be a huge winter hit — go now before it does.

The mammoth taiyaki had rice cake inside.
Childish mango bingsu: big enough for four?

This is Childish's other signature — mango bingsu.
It's really packed with fresh mango, and the puree-like layer inside was so good. Even the portion was huge — enough for four women to share and still be satisfied. It'll get too cold for bingsu soon, so try it before real summer's over.
Is Childish worth a visit in Seongsu?
If you found this blog searching for Seongsu dessert spots, Seongsu taiyaki, Seongsu café, Seongsu date spots, or Seoul bingsu spots — lucky you. I went out to Seoul at the tail end of summer craving bingsu and found this Seoul bingsu spot, Seongsu dessert café Childish — turns out it's also just a Seongsu taiyaki spot. Lots of distinctive taiyaki flavors, and every single one was genuinely delicious. It's going to be huge in winter ദ്ദി(• ˕ •マ.ᐟ

If you're looking for a Seoul bingsu spot among Seongsu cafés this weekend before summer wraps up, give Childish a try 🫶
