8pm at a Songdo 1-gongu kalguksu restaurant, chicken sold out: Eonyang
In short
Eonyang Dak Kalguksu Incheon Songdo Branch is a chicken noodle soup (dak kalguksu) restaurant by the back gate of Songdo Sikjaemart in Songdo 1-gongu, Yeonsu, Incheon. On an 8pm visit the order was dak kalguksu (11,000 won), Eonyang-style kalguksu (8,000 won) and chewy dumplings (6,000 won) — with the chicken sold out, Eonyang-style kalguksu replaced the second chicken bowl. Savory broth with half a chicken, aged noodles that never go soggy and self-serve kimchi in two spice levels make Eonyang Dak Kalguksu a 100% return visit.

I really love anything made with chicken — I could eat chicken dishes every day of the week and never get tired of them, haha 😋 So today I'm introducing a chicken kalguksu (knife-cut noodle soup) spot I tried in Songdo: Eonyang Dak Kalguksu Incheon Songdo Branch.
Where is Eonyang Dak Kalguksu in Songdo 1-gongu, and where do you park?
Eonyang Dak Kalguksu Incheon Songdo Branch is at 160-15 Haedoji-ro, 1st floor 129-132ho, Yeonsu-gu, Incheon, about 10 minutes by car from Songdo Dalbit Festival Park Station. It's open 11am to 9pm, with last order at 8:30pm.

- 🛺 Parking / Entrance on the one-way street opposite Garosu-gil, or in front of the restaurant across from the back door of Songdo Sikjaemart

Eonyang Dak Kalguksu Incheon Songdo Branch sits just in front of the back door of Songdo Sikjaemart in Songdo 1-gongu. I parked right by the mart entrance in front of the restaurant. I arrived at 8pm and the alley was quiet, so parking was easy.

Inside Eonyang Dak Kalguksu: bar seats for solo diners, tables for groups
The interior of Eonyang Dak Kalguksu Incheon Songdo Branch is spacious and clean, with well-spaced tables. There are group tables and bar seats, so it works comfortably for company dinners, family gatherings, or eating solo.

Self-serve kimchi bar: spicy, mild and pickled radish
Near the entrance there's a self-serve corner with spicy kimchi, mild kimchi, and pickled radish, so you can freely grab more whenever you like. They say the kimchi is made fresh in-house every day, and having it prepared by spice level shows real thoughtfulness 👍👍 Being able to pick the kimchi that suits your taste is great 🤗

Menu and prices: chicken sold out at 8pm, so Eonyang-style kalguksu it was
The menu at Eonyang Dak Kalguksu Incheon Songdo Branch is varied, with dak kalguksu, dak gomtang (chicken bone soup), jjimdak (braised chicken), and more. The noodles are house-made and aged 24 hours, and the broth is simmered from chicken bones — apparently one bowl and you're full of energy 🔥, like taking a tonic??

I ordered dak kalguksu (₩11,000), Eonyang-style kalguksu (₩8,000), and chewy dumplings (₩6,000). (I wanted two bowls of dak kalguksu, but since the chicken was sold out, I added the Eonyang-style kalguksu instead.) Wow!!! The dak kalguksu came with half a chicken plopped right on top,

How do the dak kalguksu, Eonyang-style kalguksu and dumplings taste?
First, a sip of the dak kalguksu broth — oh~, rich and savory all through the mouth, the kind of flavor that makes you keep spooning it up. The noodles, aged a day before cooking, have great chew and stay springy without going soggy, so you can enjoy the texture right to the last strand.
Loving spicy kimchi, I wrapped it gently around the noodles and slurped away (if you're spice-sensitive, go for the mild kimchi). The crisp, tangy napa cabbage kimchi pairs perfectly with the savory noodles 👍 A good restaurant always has good kimchi too!!!
The chicken has just the right chew and tenderness. Dry??? Not at all. You can see the chicken leg meat pulling apart in tender strands ⚡️⚡️ As someone who loves chicken 🐔, I can say there's absolutely no gamey smell.
The Eonyang-style kalguksu balances the nutty perilla flavor with the savory chicken bone broth so well that you end up scraping the bowl clean without leaving a drop 😋 The chewy dumplings live up to their name — the dough is aged before use, giving them a satisfying chew, and the filling is packed full, so one bite sends savory juices flooding your mouth.
Next visit at Eonyang Dak Kalguksu: jjimdak with a bowl of kalguksu
The next table over was eating spicy jjimdak, and next visit I definitely want to try it paired with kalguksu. The combination of jjimdak and kalguksu noodles seems like it'd be amazing.
If you want a hearty meal without heavy seasoning, a place to bring a family with a young child, a chance to try a distinctive kalguksu, or somewhere to eat quietly alone, I'd recommend Eonyang Dak Kalguksu Incheon Songdo Branch. Would I go back?? 100 percent.
