A weekend drive turned into a hangover cure with beef brisket jjamppong (spicy noodle soup), poached-egg pork belly jjajangmyeon, mapo tofu rice bowl, and black vinegar tangsuyuk, all on one table. The spicy brisket jjamppong broth was so good at clearing out last night's soju that it created an endless loop with the tangsuyuk.

The mini size was just right for two to finish without leftovers, making it a good pick for after a date or as an anniversary gift.
Barabon Glasses Ilgwang New City Branch is an eyewear shop in Ilgwang, Gijang, Busan, where frames from the ₩10,000s to the ₩50,000s can be compared alongside lenses. The writer's younger sibling tried on several frames in person, then chose a frame in the ₩50,000 range plus a ₩50,000 blue-light-blocking lens, for about ₩100,000 in total. Its seasonal sashimi set (제철한상세트) brought a mixed seafood platter, sashimi with the fish name labeled on each plate, and a spicy fish stew to finish, served in a second-floor private dining room with generously spaced tables. For a tidy, well-composed spread in an upscale setting with someone you care about, The Bangpaje is worth a return visit.
Maenggu Pocha Gwang-an Main Branch is a retro pocha (Korean street-style bar) in Gwang-an, Suyeong, Busan. Two of us cleared a ₩35,000 plate of gizzard shad sashimi served with perilla leaf and onion and a ₩21,000 boneless dak-bokkeumtang (spicy braised chicken) made only with thigh meat, spending ₩72,000 in total. The food at Maenggu Pocha beat expectations, and the gizzard shad sashimi is the first thing to reorder next time.
Bitnaneun Lash Wax Skin is a lash, waxing and skin care studio near Hadan Station in Saha, Busan. The mascara lash extensions were set in length and curl to suit eyes whose lids cover much of the lash line, and with the studio's own lash serum applied, once-sparse lashes looked fuller and better defined.
