Marine City Chinese restaurant with open-air seats: BUUK jjajangmyeon

Bueokgan Chinese Marine City Branch is a roughly 100-pyeong (330 m²) Chinese restaurant on the second floor of a building facing the sea in Marine City, Haeundae, Busan. One side of the dining room is open to the air, and the order here was BUUK jjajangmyeon, woo-samgyeop beef jjamppong, and jalapeño cream shrimp. Thick noodles, a rich jjamppong broth that is not spicy, and cream shrimp that never turned soggy make Bueokgan Chinese a solid lunch pick in Busan.

Bueokgan Chinese Marine City Branch is an ocean-view Chinese restaurant on the second floor above Subyeon Choego Pork Gukbap at the end of Marine City in Haeundae, Busan. The order was BUUK jjajangmyeon (extra-large portion), beef woosamgyeop jjamppong (spicy seafood-style noodle soup) and black vinegar sirloin tangsuyuk (sweet and sour pork): the jjajangmyeon noodles had gone a little soft, while the bone-broth jjamppong and glutinous-rice tangsuyuk were both satisfying. At Bueokgan Chinese, sticking to the jjamppong and tangsuyuk makes for a happy meal.

Haeundae lunch between yoga classes: pumpkin pastry soup at Bueokgan

Bueokgan Haeundae Branch is a Western-style brunch restaurant on the second floor of a building on Dalmaji-gil in Haeundae, Busan. Dropping in between yoga classes, we ordered the pastry soup at 10,000 won, the napa cabbage Caesar salad at 16,000 won and the jambon pizza at 24,000 won, and the deeply flavoured pumpkin soup and the honey-drizzled jambon pizza were the standouts. With one bright hall, one toned-down hall and basement parking, Bueokgan Haeundae Branch works well for a weekend date or a meal out with children.

With Marine City and the Haeundae sea in view from the window, it suits family get-togethers and group dinners.
