Seomyeon chicken eatery with fried gizzards and stew: Yetnal Tongdak
In short
Yetnal Tongdak & Tang Seomyeon Branch is a chicken and dakdoritang (spicy braised chicken stew) restaurant on the bar street of Seomyeon in Busan. Chosen as a compromise between a soup lover and a fried chicken lover, the gizzard-and-stew set costs 30,000 won and arrived with a 500cc draft beer and so many glass noodles and long rice cakes that two people could have fed three. Yetnal Tongdak & Tang is a good pick when you want a meal and a drinking snack in one order.

The gizzard-and-stew set: a compromise between the soup lover and the fried chicken lover
I'm a total soup person and my boyfriend really loves fried chicken gizzards, so we ordered the gizzard-and-stew set as our compromise!

The basic side dishes were cabbage salad, pickled radish, and shrimp chips

Draft beer 500 (₩5,000) — eek, this place is a draft beer spot! It was so cold and delicious 🍺

A portion for two that could easily feed three
The gizzard-and-stew set (₩30,000) comes with dakdoritang and fried gizzards, and the portion is really, really big! We ate it as two people but it would have been plenty for three.

In the wide stainless steel pot there's broth, rice cake, glass noodles, chicken, quail eggs, and green onion, all piled high.
It bubbles away and the smell alone is a work of art

Even without adding extra noodles, there's already a generous serving of glass noodles! This place is seriously good value. The noodles soak up the broth so well, chewy and salty and delicious

The star of the dakdoritang, the chicken 🍖 soft and chewy, nom nom nom

How can you resist adding rice when the broth is this good? We immediately added a bowl of rice. Mixing white rice with the seasoning and topping it with chicken — so, so good💗

Here the rice cakes come in long pieces, about 5-6 of them! The portion is really huge... chewy enough to spike your dopamine. It feels like eating tteokbokki (spicy rice cakes) and dakdoritang at the same time!

How were the crispy fried chicken gizzards?
Ta-da — fried gizzards! The batter is so crispy

Salt and seasoned sauce come alongside it.

Crispy outside and springy, chewy inside — such a great texture for fried gizzards. A flavor that calls for beer >_<! Eating the savory fried gizzards, then the spicy dakdoritang broth, then fishing out the chicken, then the rice cake — how perfect can it get? I love that it takes care of both a meal and a drinking snack at once!
Final verdict
When you want both fried chicken and soup, the set menu is such great value! There's a wide variety of chicken dishes so it's fun picking what to order. The staff were friendly too!
