Mangwon café in Seoul for French toast and laptop seats: PICT Roastery

I heard there was a newly opened toast hotspot in Mangwon-dong, so I went straight over 😍

Finding PICT Roastery near Mangwon Market

It is located near Mangwon Market. I followed my map app and it led me to this building—just look for the white sign you can see above! There is a small PIKT sign on the red-brick building.

Wow, the moment I walked in, this white-toned interior unfolded in front of me and it was so pretty,, Even the floor is pretty, haha. It has that cozy basement-level feel while keeping the interior modern and simple, so everyone at every table seemed to be getting their perfect profile shot.

The lighting definitely played a part too—it was soft but still had a real presence.

Window seats that are great for working solo at a café

The window seats here are amazing too,, There is just the right amount of sunlight, you can watch people passing by, relax while looking outside, and I thought they were especially great for anyone coming alone to soak up the vibe!

Each window seat has an outlet, so it was perfect for bringing a laptop.

No matter how many times I looked, the neat white-toned interior was so pretty that I kept looking around the café, haha.

You could choose the coffee beans, and I went with the nutty option without question.

There is drinking water and napkins by the counter, and the restroom is beside the counter too!

They told us when ordering that the French toast would take about 20 minutes! I waited patiently while looking around at the interior.

The taste of the brûléed aged French toast

Wow, it already looked so fluffy that it passed the visual test right away. The coffee was about 75% nutty and 25% acidic, so the acidity was not strong enough to bother me. But it was not completely nutty either, so keep that in mind! I think it may vary by person. I just enjoyed it a lot.

The toast had a brûlée topping, and the inside was moist, so the texture was amazing 👍 It had a strong cinnamon aroma and plenty of sweet maple syrup, so it went really well with an iced Americano! Looking at the menu, there may not be many desserts, but they all seemed delicious. Next time I want to try the Kyoto matcha cheesecake or the pistachio tiramisu too. I can kind of imagine the matcha cheesecake, but I cannot even begin to picture pistachio tiramisu. Having dessert while working at a café would be such a great vibe,, 😍

I think anyone who loves aesthetic cafés will be really happy here. It suits so many occasions—solo outings, working at a café, dates, and more—so I think it will only become more popular. Come by soon and try the French toast,, ✨
