Suwon beef restaurant with medium-grilled brisket: Yeongpo Hwa-ro
In short
Yeongpo Hwa-ro Ingye Branch is a hanwoo charcoal grill restaurant in Ingye-dong, Suwon, Gyeonggi. On a date night with her husband, the writer reserved a table and ordered the assorted hanwoo platter for two (150g each, 300g total) plus doenjang sulbap (soybean paste rice) at 7,000 won, grilled the brisket thick and medium, and was handed a large bingsu (shaved ice dessert) on the house on the way out. Parking sits right in front of Yeongpo Hwa-ro Ingye Branch, so getting there was no trouble.

My husband and I headed to Suwon together after a while — it was his day off and I wanted to treat him to a nice meal! Since it was also a rare date for us, I wanted to eat somewhere really good, so I booked ahead and visited Yeongpo Hwa-ro Ingye Branch, a well-known hanwoo (Korean beef) spot in Ingye-dong.

There was plenty of parking space right in front of the restaurant, so I didn't have to worry about that at all!

Inside Yeongpo Hwa-ro Ingye Branch: private rooms and side dishes
The moment we walked into Yeongpo Hwa-ro Ingye Branch, the clean, upscale atmosphere immediately put me in a great mood before we even started eating. They also have private rooms, which looked great for work dinners or family gatherings.
What impressed me most was that not just the main meat but every single one of the basic side dishes was served with real care and precision! We ordered the hanwoo assorted platter for two and doenjang sulbap.

The essential setup for eating meat was all there — ssamjang (soybean-chili dipping sauce), garlic, chili, wasabi, and salt.
The scallion salad and myeongi namul (wild garlic leaves) paired beautifully together. The scallion salad, served generously on a brass plate, had the scallions and bean sprouts mixed in just the right ratio. Wrapping a hot, well-grilled piece of hanwoo in myeongi namul is such a great combination +_+
The clear pickle, made with thinly sliced radish and neatly rounded cucumber, wasn't overpowering — just a bright, refreshing tanginess — and it paired nicely with the crisp, cool napa cabbage kimchi.

Meat has to be grilled over charcoal to taste right, doesn't it?

Which cuts come in the 300g hanwoo platter for two?
While we were admiring each side dish one by one, the main event we'd been looking forward to finally arrived — the hanwoo assorted platter (150g) for two! It looked like our order came without jebichuri (skirt steak). Two servings gave us 300g total!

Doenjang sulbap for 7,000 won
We also ordered doenjang sulbap, and the rice was so well seasoned it was genuinely delicious!

It was the perfect dessert-like course to cut through any greasiness after eating meat while still finishing the meal cleanly and satisfyingly. Topped with crunchy napa cabbage kimchi or the cool pickle, my spoon kept going back even though I was already full, and I ended up scraping the stone pot completely clean.

The moment I saw the bright red color and the marbling blooming like little flowers all over the meat, I thought, "So this is why it's known as a great hanwoo spot in Ingye-dong!"

Charcoal-grilled hanwoo with salt and fresh wasabi
The moment we laid the meat gently on the mellow but powerful charcoal grill, a sizzling sound and savory meaty aroma hit our noses.

I tried the first well-cooked piece of hanwoo dipped in just a bit of salt. The moment I bit into it, rich juices burst in my mouth and the tender texture was truly a work of art. It wasn't chewy at all — it just seemed to melt away in my mouth.
After that, I tried it with a bit of fresh wasabi on top, then wrapped in well-seasoned myeongi namul with the scallion salad, mixing and matching with the various side dishes.

The side dishes had such varied flavors and supported the beef's natural taste without overpowering it, so I never got tired of it, even down to the very last bite.
The quality of the meat itself was outstanding, and combined with the subtle smoky flavor from the charcoal, it was truly the perfect hanwoo experience.

Grilling the brisket thick and medium
The brisket (eopjinsal) was really tender and delicious too! Ordering the hanwoo assorted platter meant we got to enjoy a variety of cuts, which was even better!

Look at that marbling, seriously +_+ It was so tender it just melted in my mouth.
We cut it into these big chunks and grilled it just to medium, and it really did melt away in my mouth...
The free bingsu served at the end of the meal
When we finished eating and were about to leave, they gave us the biggest surprise... they brought out this huge bingsu (shaved ice dessert) on the house! Something like this would easily cost ten thousand won if you ordered it yourself... and it was genuinely delicious!!!!
