Where is Oterre Namyeong, the hair salon near Namyeong Station?
Oterre Namyeong is a one-on-one salon right in front of Namyeong Station, in the alley facing Yongsan Police Station — a Yongsan hair salon through and through. Namyeong Station is a Line 1 stop between Seoul Station and Yongsan Station, the two stations soldiers use most, and while it's quieter than either, it's actually hiding a lot of gems!!
The hot summer has passed and there's a cool breeze now~!?! Fall must be coming!! And with fall comes vacation season, which a lot of you are probably counting down to!! For those coming out on leave in the nice fall weather, I wanted to recommend a salon to use near Namyeong Station, the mecca for soldiers! I, Kkuni Kkunin, went around checking out the top spots near Namyeong Station myself~!!
What's unique is that Oterre Namyeong aims to have just one designer and one customer per time slot, so they run it as close to a one-on-one salon as possible!!! Since my teammate here is about to be discharged and is, well, a soldier, we were looking for a private salon and found this place!! If you're someone who's uncomfortable with crowded salons, I definitely, definitely recommend this one!!!
The exterior alone is so beautiful,,, I went to get a haircut but ended up feeling healed ㅠㅠ

Oterre Namyeong has been open for less than 2 years! But every single hairdresser there has 10+ years of experience — total veterans,, and having veterans like that give you close, focused care in a private space made me feel so well taken care of!
At most regular salons, it's rare for the actual designer to wash your hair, right..?! (That was my experience, anyway..) But here, from the assistants to the designers, everyone is a veteran in the industry, and having them wash your hair.. wow, the touch is different haha! Such a great experience!!
Stained glass and small decor: what Oterre Namyeong feels like inside
Not just the windows but the entire salon was a gorgeous space infused with the owner's taste! The stained glass in particular left an impression and I kept looking at it, and all the other decor pieces were amazing too!! I felt not just mentally at ease but like I was getting my hair done in a genuinely beautiful place!
Short haircuts that suit soldiers, police and other uniformed workers
Yongsan Police Station is right behind Oterre Namyeong, so I think it'd be great not just for soldiers but for police officers too! They're really skilled and stylish with short men's hair,, and there's also the Yongsan Fire Station and the Ministry of National Defense nearby!
