Yukhoe Maltuout Yadang hours and parking
Visited Yukhoe Maltuout Yadang Branch, a go-to spot for yukhoe (raw beef) and beef sashimi~!
[Hours] Daily 17:30 - 02:00 [Parking] In-building parking available, 3 hours free

Wood interior with partitions: good for dates and small groups
The Yadang branch had a cozy, wood-toned feel! The partitions gave it a more separated feeling. Seemed good for a date and also good for coming with friends!!!
Not too loud but also not too quiet — just the right vibe??!! Too quiet feels awkward and too loud is distracting, right?!! It was just right!!

They brought a wet towel as soon as we sat down. But that towel was so nice my hands kept reaching for it even with nothing to wipe...? Thick and soft, not that cheap rough kind!!!! (I wanted to ask where they bought it...)
What's on the menu and what the Two Out Set includes

After much deliberation, we ordered the Two Out Set with yukhoe, beef sashimi and beef ramyeon to try a bit of everything!!! It was nice that the set size could be changed. Sometimes you find places that won't let you change it ㅠㅠ and some places have sets you don't even like, but here it felt like they'd bundled exactly what you'd want to eat!

Sometimes tables are packed way too close together, but that wasn't the case here!!! I hate feeling like I'm eating or drinking right next to a stranger ㅠㅠㅠㅠ

They also sell various liquors including sake~! Good for a meal with drinks or for heading straight into a drinking session!!

Free porridge and same-day liver and cheonyeop refills
The porridge that came out before the food was more than enough to get the appetite going! One warm spoonful and my stomach settled right down~ You know you have to warm up before drinking, right?! ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ (gotta take care of my stomach now...) Nice light bite before the main event!

The liver and cheonyeop (beef tripe) that came with it were clean with no fishy smell, which surprised me! They said they prep this every day and keep refilling it until it runs out...! Isn't that amazing?!! Dipped lightly in sesame oil sauce, the savory flavor doubled! Freshness is everything for same-day prepped liver and cheonyeop, and it was so clean with zero funky smell that even my squeamish friend ate it happily! (that friend is me~~!)

Bokbunja, soju and cider at 1:1:1, the drink to pair with yukhoe
Had a bite, then went straight for a drink! Bok-so-sa (bokbunja-soju-cider mix) is trending again lately, so I tried bokbunja wine, soju and cider at a 1:1:1 ratio and it was satisfying! haha Besides soju or beer, there's also highball, sake and other drinks that go well with yukhoe, so it holds its own as a proper drinking spot too!

Beef sashimi with plenty of pear, cheese, gim (seaweed) and minari
Eating the yukhoe and beef sashimi together with radish sprouts and pear made for an obviously amazing combo!!!! And I'd never seen a place with this much pear before. There's usually never enough pear, but here we finished the meal and still had leftover pear to eat as a snack ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ Soy sauce and gochujang...? The sauces were tasty too, but the meat quality itself was so good that even just salt-oil sauce was more than delicious!!!

And this cheese was so cute,,, I took a separate photo. Little things like this at a restaurant somehow lift my mood more than expected!!! Lots of different cheeses and sauces to mix and match, which was fun~! I'm normally a plain-eating purist, but eating it with gim (seaweed) and cheese that day was so good....??? Adding the seasoned minari (water dropwort) on the side brought a fragrant flavor that kept my hand reaching back!? There was a note on the wall saying minari is good for your liver... so I ended up eating even more ㅋㅋㅋㅋ (sorry, liver)

The beef radish soup that came out suited my taste so well I wanted a refill!!!

How the yukhoe is plated, and finishing with beef ramyeon
The yukhoe has arrived!! Doesn't it look so pretty with the pear?! Piling on plenty of pear and radish sprouts for a big bite, it melted right in my mouth~ Must be the freshness, because the more I chewed the sweeter it tasted! The plating was so precise it was great for photos too~

Finished off with beef ramyeon! The broth with finely sliced green onion was so refreshing it felt like a hangover cure~ The spicy broth was the perfect drinking snack to end on >< If you're looking for a great yukhoe spot near Yadang Station, I strongly recommend Yukhoe Maltuout!!
