Busan galbitang restaurant packed on weekends: Gang Galbitang Seomyeon
In short
Gang Galbitang Seomyeon is a galbitang (short rib soup) and galbi noodle restaurant on Seomyeon 1st Street in Busanjin, Busan. Visiting on a weekend afternoon, the place was completely full, but I still got a bowl of gang galbitang for 14,000 won with extra noodles, big chunks of rib meat, and a clean broth. With a self-serve side dish bar and coffee after the meal, it works well for solo diners and for meals with parents alike.

Today I'm introducing a place I recommend as a Busan Seomyeon galbitang restaurant and a great spot for solo dining in Seomyeon: Gang Galbitang Seomyeon :)

This is Gang Galbitang Seomyeon, located on Seomyeon 1st Street in Busan :)
I'd also recommend this place as a restaurant near Yeonggwang Bookstore in Seomyeon or Bujeon Market — I visited on a weekend afternoon and it was completely full!! It's such a popular spot that I was so curious about it haha.

A menu lineup and meal kits that work for solo dining too
Gang Galbitang Seomyeon has a wide variety of menu items — gang galbitang, spicy gang galbitang, galbi rice soup, galbi noodle soup, and more — and a lot of options that also work well for lunch, so I'd definitely recommend this place if you're looking for a solo dining spot in Seomyeon, Busan :)

Gang Galbitang Seomyeon also sells meal kits, so if you want takeout or plan to eat at home, that might be worth knowing haha.
Gang Galbitang Seomyeon has regular table seating as well as tables set aside specifically for solo diners, so it seemed like a comfortable place to enjoy a meal alone ^^

How spicy is the spicy option?
The various menu items at Gang Galbitang Seomyeon :) The spicy option lets you set the heat level, and they say level 1 is about as spicy as Shin Ramyun, so that's worth keeping in mind hahaha.

For reference, here's the menu board at Gang Galbitang Seomyeon :)

What we ordered today
Today's order at Gang Galbitang Seomyeon — gang galbitang ₩14,000 ×2, extra noodles, drinks.

Side dish self-bar and coffee after the meal
After ordering I looked around — they set out basic side dishes, but if you want more, there's a self-serve bar you can use!! Haha.

The self-serve bar at Gang Galbitang Seomyeon was really neat and well organized hahaha. The mu-mallaengi (dried radish pickles) in particular are so tasty..!
They also have coffee ready after the meal, so that's worth knowing haha. My parents loved it!
Gang galbitang with extra noodles: the broth and the meat
Out came today's main dish pretty quickly — the gang galbitang!!! Hahahaha.
With extra noodles, the bowl was packed full of noodles in the galbitang!! The broth and noodles went together so well that it was great to eat the noodles first and then enjoy the rest with rice.
Since I have a small appetite, I ordered mine without noodles — the basic Gang Galbitang Seomyeon!! Even the basic galbitang alone comes in a really generous portion hahahaha.
The broth was really abundant too — and the meat, big chunks of rib meat, filled the bowl completely, so using the tongs and scissors they give you to separate the bones and cut it into bite-sized pieces really brought my appetite back to life hahahaha.
The broth was so clean yet somehow brought back an appetite I thought I'd lost... I fell for it completely.

You can add salt, pepper, and so on to taste, and adding the garlic and chili peppers they provide made it even more delicious for me!! Haha.

When you order gang galbitang, it comes out as a neat individual set like this, which made it feel even tidier and more pleasant to eat hahaha.

The meat was so tender it separated from the bone really easily, and the lean meat just melted when eaten with the broth!! Haha.
If you prefer it spicier, you can add chili powder or pepper to taste!!
The dipping sauce for the meat in particular was so appealing!! Haha. The staff at Gang Galbitang Seomyeon were also so kind, which made the whole meal feel great, and it felt like I'd been treated to a bowl made with real care — a place I'd definitely want to visit again.

Paired with kkakdugi (radish kimchi) and mu-mallaengi, it all went together so well that it gave me back energy and appetite when I had none — that's Gang Galbitang Seomyeon.

I recommend it so, so much hahahaha.
