Anmin Busan: a new Korean BBQ restaurant in Jeonpo

Whenever I went out drinking around Jeonpo or just passed through, there was this spot that had been empty for ages — and suddenly a huge BBQ restaurant popped up there. I was so curious. A friend walking by went "Wait?! Anmin!!" and when I asked if they'd been, they said they went to the one in Jinhae, Changwon back in 2024. Apparently it's already a famous spot there with people waiting in line to eat — and now that place has come to Busan?! I was dying to know more.

The weekend wait was already pretty long... seems like people have already sniffed out that this place is good, haha.

Where Anmin Busan is, parking and opening hours

It's less than 2 minutes from my house!! A legit good BBQ spot right nearby~ Parking isn't available though, sob. Please use the nearby parking lots!

Reservations available!! A raw pork charcoal-grill specialist, ta-da!!

I'd made a reservation, and while the staff confirmed it I waited a bit in the waiting area — it was so clean I felt like I could've waited another hour there, haha.

Inside Anmin Busan: bar seats for solo diners to group tables

Even though it was early evening, Anmin Busan was already packed, and there were bar-style seats so some people were eating solo!! There were also plenty of large tables, so lots of families were there too. And since the staff grill everything for you, nobody has to do the hard work themselves ~ ~

The interior overall has a wood-tone, tidy vibe — feels like an upscale Korean restaurant..!! There's also group seating in the back, which looked perfect for work dinners or gatherings. It seemed like a great date spot too, or even somewhere to treat someone important, and best of all, even with charcoal grilling, the smoke duct sucks up the smoke right away so there's no worry about smelling like it afterward.

What side dishes come with the meal?

There were so many side dishes to cut through the richness of the meat. There were several kinds of pickled vegetables — bringing your mom here, she'd love it. The green onion kimchi was perfectly fermented, not too spicy, and so good, haha. Even the basic side dishes are high quality, so you can feel the effort before the meat even arrives.

Anmin Busan's menu and how to order

There's a menu book, but we ordered on a tablet. There's a wide variety of side dishes — they even had ramen!! I'll have to try it next visit. They had all kinds of cocktails and highballs too, and non-alcoholic options as well!!!

Cumin and shiitake-wasabi sauces, plus Anmin Busan's extra services

A few unique, standout things about Anmin. Cumin, usually used for dipping lamb, was on the table. Raise your hand if you love cumin!! Shiitake-wasabi was a first for me too, and it went so well with the meat, and the cheese fondue sauce was surprisingly great with the meat too — I was so surprised, haha.

Anmin's own special service ~~

  • If you visit with a baby, they provide a baby chair, spoon/chopsticks, seaweed, and a dessert drink
  • A birthday cocktail
  • Phone stand, charging, and photo-taking help
  • Hair ties and first-aid items
  • Free corkage

Even eating solo, having a phone stand means you can totally watch a show while enjoying delicious meat, haha.

The half-pig set: staff grill every cut for you

I ordered Anmin's whole half-pig set. Can you see how good the meat looks? I ordered the set because I wanted the skin too, haha. Staff grill all the meat for you directly.

Insane, insane!!!!! The staff member's grilling skills are also incredible.

Grilled meat and vegetables on the mini brazier
Juicy grilled pork neck and grilled mushrooms

After grilling it all, they set it on a mini brazier so it stays warm the whole time you eat. The meat's juiciness — I can't even describe it, there was so much. Pork neck can easily turn dry, but this had no dryness at all, completely tender and delicious. It also paired well with the grilled vegetables, and the mushrooms were amazing!! I like the skin grilled a bit crispier, so I grilled it more myself in the leftover charcoal heat, haha.

Doenjang jjigae and chestnut stone-pot rice to finish

Stone-pot rice!!! I've been really into stone-pot rice lately, and chestnut stone-pot rice?? So good... so, so good. The doenjang jjigae (soybean paste stew) had a whole snow crab in it, and unlike other BBQ restaurants' versions, it wasn't salty or overpowering — the seasoning was just right and healthily delicious, which paired really well with the stone-pot rice.

Would I go back to Anmin Busan?

Now I understand why this place is famous, after visiting Anmin ..(´▽`ʃ♡ƪ) I'd come back 10000% for sure. I'm bringing my parents too!!! Stamping my "good restaurant" card again after a long time, bang bang!!
