Mother-daughter pizza and spinach-noodle pasta in Dunsan-dong: Plate

A long-overdue date with my mom in Dunsan-dong ~🌀 We were both craving western food, so after some searching we found Plate, right next to Galleria! I'd actually loved my visit to Plate's Seonhwa-dong branch so much that I was curious about the Dunsan one too. And sure enough, the restaurant was gorgeous and the food was delicious — here's the review.

What is Plate Dunsan Branch like inside? Window walls and group tables

Plate Dunsan Branch is much bigger than the Seonhwa-dong location, and it has floor-to-ceiling windows too, so it'd be even nicer to visit these days with the good weather. They thoughtfully have a baby chair, plenty of tables, and group seating too :) The staff were super friendly!

My mom kept eyeing this fridge!! haha Seeing this fridge made me think that any menu item with meat would taste amazing.

Choosing your pasta noodles and adding the soup-and-bread set

At Plate you get to pick your pasta noodle like this. I think that's the charm of a fresh-noodle pasta place >_< No need to overthink the noodle choice, since they list the recommended noodle for each menu item, so you can just pick comfortably! They'd also cleverly tied the cutlery with a bread tie, haha.

The menu items I picked were the fire-grilled chapsteak pizza and the scallop uni oil pasta! I chose spinach noodles for the pasta, hehe. The recommendation was just the plain spaghetti noodle. Also, for just a few thousand won more you can add a soup-and-bread set to any pasta, but since I ordered pizza I skipped the set — though if you're only ordering pasta, I highly recommend getting the set!

For drinks I ordered a lemonade, and it was sweet and tangy and so good. Whenever things got a bit heavy, one sip of this and I was refreshed right away! Definitely order an ade!

The visual alone looked so gorgeous and delicious... I was craving oil pasta that day, and I think I ordered exactly right. First of all, Plate's pasta noodles are a total steal. Whatever noodle you pick, it's so chewy and delicious?! With scallops and more scallops and plenty of seafood, it was a strongly flavored oil pasta! I ate it very happily, haha.

You absolutely must order this one... The pizza dough is chewy, and smartly, the crust edge is stuffed with string cheese, plus garlic sauce comes standard with it!!! First of all, the cheese stretches out just like real natural cheese and there's a generous amount. And true to its name, fire-grilled chapsteak pizza, it's topped with meat, so it felt like the first genuinely delicious meat pizza I'd had in a while. The sauce pairs well, and the arugula too — it's hard for a dish to nail both looks and taste, but... this one manages it 🤭 Anyway, if you go to Plate, get this pasta-plus-pizza combo.

Too much food for two, so we packed the leftovers

Since it was just my mom and me, there was food left over, so I asked for a takeout container and packed it up neatly to bring home. It was still delicious later too... Another successful Dunsan-dong restaurant find after a long time! 💓 How about heading to Dunsan-dong for Plate this weekend too~?
