Worang Myeongga Daejeon Doan Branch, a hanwoo beef restaurant, is located near Doan-dong and Gasuwon, close to Gapcheon Ecological Lake Park.

🚗 The parking lot is behind the restaurant, and you can use both the ground-level and underground parking of the building.

Even just from the outside, it already had that Daejeon hanwoo-restaurant look going on, haha 😁

Inside Worang Myeongga Daejeon Doan Branch: 17 private rooms

Here's the interior. At a glance, it was really spacious and clean. There are 17 private rooms, and they say the place can hold up to 200 people total. Overall it had a tidy yet upscale vibe, so it seemed great for family meals, meetings between families, dates, and even company dinners 💕

I visited with my parents, three of us total, and this is what we ordered. Turns out you pick the hanwoo cuts yourself and bring them to the table!

The origin labeling was clearly marked, and Worang Myeongga Daejeon Doan Branch is currently running an event where writing a Naver receipt review gets you a coupon for snow-flake shaved ice — definitely recommend taking part!

Worang Myeongga Daejeon Doan Branch reportedly only handles 1++ grade hanwoo cows, aged 30–40 months. There was a wide variety of cuts, and the gift sets were also on display.

Since I'd made a reservation, only the basic table setting was ready when we arrived. Garlic, ssamjang (dipping sauce), wasabi, and shredded onion!

How to grill beef deliciously: 1. Don't flip the meat too often, and don't press down on it 2. Sear it lightly in the center, then pull it to the edge of the grill to finish cooking 3. Don't leave cooked meat on the grill too long — it gets tough Worang Myeongga only handles top-quality hanwoo.

Here's the basic table setting: yam slices on tomato, salad, yukhoe (beef tartare), cheonyeop (beef tripe), baek-kimchi (white kimchi), japchae (glass noodles), steamed egg, crab preserved in soy sauce, and various other basic side dishes.

Japchae, acorn jelly, peppers, and kkakdugi (radish kimchi) I grabbed myself from the self-serve bar, haha 😁

They set up the grill fire for us 🔥

Just look at that hanwoo visual... something you're happy about just looking at it = hanwoo 💕

You know hanwoo should only be flipped once, right? The platter has several different cuts, so there's the fun of choosing what to grill next plus the fun of tasting them all 🤭

Beautifully grilled hanwoo is delicious with just a dip of salt, but wrapping it with a bit of wasabi in myeongi namul (wild garlic leaves) is next level..🥴

Since there were three of us, we didn't pile on too much at once — just three pieces at a time, grilled slowly, haha 😁 Mom and Dad were really happy too, saying the side dishes were nice and neat and the atmosphere was great (proud moment).

Hamheung bibim naengmyeon, doenjang jjigae, and hanwoo sushi

I pretty much always order naengmyeon (cold noodles) when eating grilled meat. Today was no exception — bibim naengmyeon ordered 😙

When you order Hamheung bibim naengmyeon, they also bring you the naengmyeon broth full of slushy ice. You know you're supposed to mix it with just a little of the noodles, right!

Wrapping hanwoo with a bite of bibim naengmyeon is ridiculously good.. it also came loaded with radish kimchi and cucumber toppings, which made it even better.

My parents ordered the doenjang jjigae with rice set. The doenjang jjigae really tastes like proper meat-restaurant doenjang jjigae, so good. Full of tofu, and delicious eaten with white rice.

Put hanwoo on top of white rice, add a dab of wasabi, and you've got hanwoo sushi 💕 Genuinely delicious.

Paying for parking and what comes for dessert

There's a tablet for parking payment next to the register, so if you brought a car, don't forget to use it!
