I visited to get a cut because my hair had gotten long from growing it out for wedding photos. The place hasn't been open long, but I showed a reference photo and the stylist matched it quickly, which I loved. I was also surprised that La Bridge Doan does scalp and hair treatments too, not just cuts — first time I'd seen that.

Where is La Bridge Doan? Right next to Mokwon University

Since it's right next to Mokwon University, it's easy to reach by public transit too — it's within 5 minutes of the bus stop, so it's not hard to find. They keep plants outside, which I liked...

There was one other customer when I visited, so I made sure to frame my shots without anyone in them. Good to keep in mind if you go.

Inside the one-person salon: what is it like?

I took some photos of the inside! The shop isn't big, but since it's run by just one stylist, it has a comfortable feel, and there were little touches that felt unique to La Bridge Doan. It was nice and cool the moment I walked in. Honestly I'd been a bit worried going in, but the stylist checked in with me and matched exactly the style I wanted, which I appreciated most. Clean, sharp lines, and bangs brought down too — the owner even complimented how well it suited me. Above all, the stylist's hands were fast, so it was over quickly, which I'd recommend to anyone nearby who's short on time or needs a rush cut 🫣

I also took a quick video~~~ It's a clean style, and while the space isn't huge, it's cute and cozy. Most of all, the owner has a really good vibe. I liked that when I showed a photo she didn't love, she'd just say so honestly, and when I showed another one, she went with that instead — it made the whole thing feel comfortable. ㅇㅂㅇ The shop isn't large, but there are 2 shampoo stations, and the atmosphere was nice. The lighting was a bit of a letdown for photos taken inside, but I just made sure to shoot around it, so it wasn't really a concern.

This is what my hair looked like before. I'd grown it out for wedding photos, and now that those were done, I went in for a cut. My hair itself is thin and a bit dry, so I trim it regularly! Especially since the longer mine gets, the more a slight wave shows up, so it needed regular upkeep ㅠㅠ Still, that same hair let me get pretty wedding photos, so I was satisfied with it. I'd dyed it before this visit too, and the stylist complimented how well the color suited me, saying it was exactly my color 👍 — that made me happy.

My hair really needs layers, or it doesn't work at all, so having layers cut in made it look so much cleaner and better. With the bangs down too, I got told it made me look younger and that it suited me well, which made me happy~~~ After taking these photos I walked around a bit and started sweating, so I tied my hair up, and it still looked neat. Best of all, it feels light when I wash it and it's great to blow-dry. My hair grows fast, so I get it cut regularly, and I've heard that's actually good for the hair. The stylist at La Bridge Doan has fast hands, which I loved, and I liked that they matched the cut exactly to what I wanted.

La Bridge Doan does scalp care in addition to cuts, so keep that in mind if you're planning a visit. The way they thin out the layers is just clean, clean, clean... I was so satisfied with the cut. And having the stylist make sure my makeup didn't smudge while trimming my bangs was a first for me, which felt novel. I've been to a lot of salons over the years, and this was a first, which I loved. It's a bit of a distance, but I think it'd be worth going back occasionally for a scalp or hair treatment too!
