Weekend lunch wait and mild udon at Mikado Sushi, a Seosan restaurant
In short
Mikado Sushi Chungnam Seosan Branch is a conveyor-belt sushi restaurant in Seokrim-dong, Seosan, with every plate priced flat at ₩2,100. Arriving at noon on a weekend meant a wait behind six parties, but once seated at a table the writer's family tried tuna belly, aged kimchi with raw fish, yukhoe sushi, and beef short rib with aged kimchi, plus a mild-flavor udon for a 33-month-old. With baby chairs and ample parking, it turned out to be an easy spot to visit with a toddler.

Today I'm writing about Mikado Sushi Chungnam Seosan Branch, a Seosan sushi spot. I've been to other Mikado Sushi locations before, but this was my first time at the Chungnam Seosan branch. It turned out to be a solid place to visit with a kid, so let me introduce it.
Location and parking at Mikado Sushi Chungnam Seosan Branch

It's at 17 Seokrim6-ro, 1st floor, Seosan-si, Chungcheongnam-do, open daily 11:30–21:20 (break time 15:00–16:00). There's a wide parking area right in front of the restaurant.

If that's full, there's a dedicated lot off to the side, so parking was never a worry. When paying, the staff entered our license plate number, so we didn't have to bother with registering it ourselves.
How long was the weekend lunch wait?

We arrived around noon and there were about six parties waiting ahead of us. You register on the CatchTable kiosk installed in the store and wait, but turnover was faster than expected so it didn't take too long.

There was also a separate waiting area, so we could sit down while we waited.

Interior and seating for families with kids
The interior was bigger than I expected and clean overall. There's a long bar counter and three regular tables.

Since we had a child with us, they seated us at a table, which made things comfortable. Each table had a pot of broth, so we could refill it easily whenever it ran low.

Baby chairs were also plentiful. Maybe because it was the weekend, there were especially many families with kids.
Sushi selection and how to order at Mikado Sushi

Mikado Sushi says it uses fresh ingredients sourced that same morning. There are about 80 menu items including sushi, and every plate is a flat ₩2,100.
If the sushi you want isn't on the conveyor belt, you can order via the tablet at your table. At the bar seats, instead of a tablet, you write what you want on a memo pad and hand it to staff.

Fatty tuna, yuksashimi (raw beef sashimi), ankimo (monkfish liver) / jeomseongeo (spotted fish), flounder fin / sea bream, scallop / grilled aged kimchi tuna, bluefin tuna belly
There were so many kinds of sushi, plus udon, tonkotsu ramen, and fried items, so it was fun picking through the options.

How the sushi we tried tasted
The fatty tuna was pleasantly rich and soft, and the flounder was chewy and clean-tasting.

The raw fish with aged kimchi had a nice tang from the kimchi that really suited my taste. The yukhoe (raw beef) sushi was soft and nutty, so it wasn't greasy at all. The grilled shrimp cheese sushi had savory cheese on top, and my kid loved it too.

The beef short rib with aged kimchi combined the meat with the kimchi's tanginess really well.

The beef and onion sushi had onion piled on top of the beef, and eating them together kept it from feeling heavy — it was delicious.

The horn snail had a great crunchy texture that got more savory the more you chewed. The cuttlefish was chewy yet soft, so it was easy to eat without feeling weighed down.

Mild udon for our kid, tonkotsu ramen for my husband
Our kid loves noodles so much that we ordered udon too. You can choose the spice level, and I picked mild — she ate it up happily.

My husband ordered the tonkotsu ramen and said the noodles were chewy and the broth was tasty.
Overall thoughts after visiting with our 33-month-old
Overall, there was a wide variety of sushi, and at ₩2,100 a plate, it was easy to try lots of different things without worrying about cost. Our 33-month-old ate well, and with baby chairs available, it was a comfortable place to visit as a family. There was a wait for weekend lunch, but turnover was quicker than expected. If you're looking for sushi in Seosan, Mikado Sushi Chungnam Seosan Branch is worth a visit.
