Hi, this is Syongsyong :) A little while ago I was craving rich, juicy premium lamb sizzling away on a charcoal brazier, so I headed to Jin 1926 Dasan Branch, a Genghis Khan-style lamb specialty restaurant where a dedicated server grills the meat from start to finish so you can just relax and focus on conversation. Here's my honest review, from the lamb ribs all the way to the gondre pollock roe rice!

How to find Jin 1926 Dasan Branch, and where to park
Jin 1926, a favorite for lamb near Dasan Station, is about a 5-minute walk from Dasan Station on Line 8.

It sits right on the main commercial street of Dasan Station, so it was easy to get to by public transit, and there's a basement parking lot in the building too, so there's zero parking stress.
Inside Jin 1926: dining room with privacy panels
Walking in, I found a warm, upscale dining room with a wood finish. There were bar-style seats and regular 4-person tables, spaced out comfortably.
What I liked most was that each bar seat and table has its own splash panel so oil doesn't fly toward guests — no worries about smell or grease, and a really pleasant meal overall. It felt equally right for a cozy date with a partner or a group gathering — a solid spot for lamb near Dasan Station.

Jin 1926 menu and what two people ordered
Once seated, I looked over the menu. This Dasan lamb favorite, Jin 1926, offers prime lamb cuts hand-picked from only the top grades, plus some distinctive rice dishes.

Worth noting: there's an ongoing event where writing a Naver receipt review gets you one extra lamb rib — definitely grab that if you visit! My partner and I ordered the following for two:
- French rack (200g): ₩33,000
- Lamb ribs (240g): ₩31,000
- Jin-teukseon-bap (gondre pollock roe rice): ₩6,000
Smoky mung bean sprout stir-fry and the side dishes

After we ordered, the basic side dishes and house sauces came out. Spicy cheongyang chili, white kimchi, a special soy sauce, wasabi, and salt were all set on the table.

The mung bean sprout stir-fry that comes as a basic side was especially great — stir-fried quickly over high heat, still crunchy, with a subtle smoky flavor and peppery kick that cut cleanly through the richness of the lamb.
How good is the raw lamb at Jin 1926? Pink meat and fine marbling
And finally, the French rack and lamb ribs arrived neatly plated on a tray. Even at a glance, the fresh crimson color and dense white marbling were impressive.

The biggest perk of Jin 1926 is that a trained staff member grills the meat 100% for you, start to finish, right at the brazier! Not having to lift a finger and being served the perfectly cooked meat felt like a real treat.

French rack medium-rare, lamb ribs medium: how staff grill each cut
The staff member grilled the French rack medium-rare, tailored to suit that cut's texture. The vegetable garnish grilled alongside — scallion, onion, cherry tomatoes, king oyster mushroom — was also generous. Once perfectly cooked, the French rack was plated with the garnish.

I dipped a piece of the perfectly cooked French rack in salt first — zero gamey smell, melt-in-the-mouth tenderness, and a burst of savory juices like a waterfall.

The lamb ribs were grilled to a perfect medium, with a springy texture.

Cooked medium, the lamb ribs had a chewy, bouncy bite that was just fantastic...
The paper bone handles on Jin 1926's lamb ribs

For the rib bone especially, they wrapped it with a dedicated paper handle so your hands wouldn't get greasy — such a thoughtful touch for guests.
What jin-teukseon-bap (gondre and pollock roe rice) looks and tastes like

The rice dish that came alongside the meat, jin-teukseon-bap, was fragrant gondre (thistle greens) rice in a dark ceramic bowl, topped with low-sodium pollock roe.

I mixed it thoroughly with a spoon, placed it on crispy dried seaweed, added a piece of spicy cheongyang chili, and wrapped it up. The savory gondre aroma paired with the salty, rich umami of the pollock roe made this an absolute standout dish from the very first bite.
Is Jin 1926 Dasan Branch worth a visit? Final verdict
Jin 1926 Dasan Branch in Namyangju is a wonderful lamb specialty restaurant near Dasan where you can fully enjoy the deep flavor of top-grade Australian lamb along with a refined grilling service. The French rack I had this time was exceptional, melt-in-the-mouth tender even at medium-rare, and the lamb ribs grilled to medium plus the thoughtful bone-handle wrapping left me very satisfied. Thanks to the cozy atmosphere, I felt looked after throughout the meal — I'd wholeheartedly recommend Jin 1926 Dasan Branch to anyone near Dasan looking to enjoy the best lamb ribs of their life with attentive tableside grilling!
