How to get to Bossam Ae Kalguksu in Sangdaewon, and where to park
Bossam Ae Kalguksu Seongnam Sangdaewon Branch is at 56 Geumsang-ro, 1st floor, near Exit 2 of Dandae-ogeori Station. This Seongnam bossam favorite is fairly close to my place, so I took the bus and walked, but there's a parking lot so driving is easy too. When I arrived, a sign reading 'Bossam Set Just 10,000 Won' caught my eye — haha, this is definitely a value spot in Sangdaewon-dong.

There's actually a specific time when the meat comes out. Timing your visit around that means even hotter bossam, I'd guess.

This Sangdaewon-dong favorite has mouthwatering gabrisal bossam and seafood minari pancake on display.

Inside Bossam Ae Kalguksu: seating and the two self-bars
The dining room at Bossam Ae Kalguksu Seongnam Sangdaewon Branch has wide table spacing and looked clean and well-kept overall. There are baby chairs, single window seats, and even two self-bars.

Against the clean backdrop, there was a wall write-up about the kimchi, bossam pork, and kalguksu the restaurant uses.

With baby chairs available, it's easy for families to visit. There are also single window seats for solo diners — I saw someone eating the bossam set alone.

With two self-bars, there was no worry about running out of side dishes — you could freely grab more. Rice is also self-serve 🍚

Menu and prices: gabrisal bossam small for two, 37,000 won
Here's the lineup of signature dishes at Bossam Ae Kalguksu Seongnam Sangdaewon Branch. True to its value reputation, the 'set' option gets you gabrisal bossam, kalguksu, and rice all for 10,000 won.

Ordering was easy with photos on a tablet, and I went with the small gabrisal bossam (2 people) for 37,000 won. This dish also comes in medium (3 people) and large sizes depending on your group, and there's a seafood minari pancake as a side, in case that's helpful 🍽️

Takeout is also available, so it could work well as a housewarming meal too.

Order bossam, get two servings of kalguksu free
Here's the real highlight! At Bossam Ae Kalguksu, ordering bossam gets you two free servings of kalguksu or makguksu (cold buckwheat noodles) — no extra charge. This was honestly the ultimate value move.

The basic side dishes were scallion kimchi, cabbage kimchi, geotjeori (fresh cabbage kimchi), raw garlic, ssamjang (dipping sauce), and salted shrimp.
The kalguksu came pre-set with sliced carrot, zucchini, and green onion, ready to boil right away.
How did the gabrisal bossam taste?
Finally, the main event — the gabrisal bossam arrived, and I fell for it just from the glossy sheen. It came with radish kimchi, cabbage leaves for wrapping, and cabbage kimchi.

Most restaurants use pork belly or shoulder, but this place uses gabrisal — a specialty cut — boiled fresh every morning, which gave me confidence.

First, I tried it with just salted shrimp to taste it on its own.

Then radish kimchi, and finally cabbage kimchi — all of them paired well 😋
The marbling was dense, so there was no dry texture at all — the ratio of lean meat to fat was just right, and it went down smoothly. The small size was just the right amount for two to share, and it also worked great as a side with rice.
Boiling the seafood kalguksu in the hot pot at your table
Time to cook the free kalguksu! We started boiling the vegetables and noodles together in a seafood broth base — and since it was boiled right at the table in a large hot pot, the portion felt generous, not like a mere sample.

I fished out the noodles once they were cooked just right — the broth was clean but had a refreshing seafood flavor that kept me going back for more.

It paired really well with the geotjeori, and I scraped the pot clean by the end.
Finishing with egg porridge for 1,000 won
Once you've eaten most of the kalguksu, I highly recommend adding a raw egg for 1,000 won to make DIY porridge!

The combination of rice, egg, and that delicious seafood kalguksu broth was just 👍🏻 I scraped the porridge clean too, and walked out completely full!
If you're looking for a spot for a workday lunch, a family dinner, or a get-together in Sangdaewon-dong, I highly recommend Bossam Ae Kalguksu Seongnam Sangdaewon Branch. Gabrisal bossam plus kalguksu makes for a satisfying meal in one sitting — a perfect pick if you're searching for Sangdaewon-dong restaurants or Seongnam bossam spots 🙌
